Pow Ski

I'm looking for a powder ski that is decent on groomers. I'm looking at the hellbent, chopstick, and prophet 130. I'm 6'1" and about 215 so i need a decently stiff ski. thanks ++k.

the prophet is the only one of those good on groomers, and it won't be super nice.
how bout next years gotama?

I'm going to set apart our differences and agree with this one. Gotama's would seem like a great choice, plus you could be all matchy with your Walls. :-)

No, I don't like mine on groomers, or I hate making a turn on them. The only time I ski them on groomers is to get back to the chair and it is a green run so i can straight line it all the way back to the lift.

the hellbents are surprisingly good on groomers, it takes a lot of work but you can make them carve some nice turns.Next years gotamas are pretty good on the hard stuff, but they didn't feel very lively to me

sorry dude but if hes looking for pow skis around the 130 waist hes not gona look at the fujas with a 95mm waist, maybe the ep prows

^^^^ my bad should have read better the ep will be to soft i guess, i love the Atomic Bent Chetler but ive herd if your a big guy they might be a little soft too but their suppost to do groomers well for fat skis

these should work just fine

None of those skis is at all good on groomers. People saying they're good on groomers "for what they are" isn't telling you much. Look into the K2 Seth, the Prophet 100, and the On3p Jeronimo. All of them are amazing pow skis that are versatile.

Moment Comi ... I've only been on the racestock version but for a ski that's 136mm in the waist, they kill it on groomers. But in the end, why the hell would hardpack performance factor into a decision like this??

Review here with a few more opinions beside my own:

The 09/10 Comi has been getting great reviews when people were allowed to demo them towards the end of the year in non-ideal conditions.

From what I heard, it does alright in pow but is more suited for charging hard in shallower conditions and in crud. If they tip rocker was slightly more exaggerated, the Mothership would be a killer choice.

for pow skies get blue houses they are sick and have a sale coming up soon and arnt that expensive. i dunno how they do on groomed runs tho

if you want a ski that can jib, rip in the pow, AND be good (and not just doable) in the groomers/hardpack, then you should probably consider the armada jj, and you could probably get away with it on the rossi s7 though the tail is a decent amount narrower than the tail so i don't know how well it would ski switch though i've seen videos of it being done. The only other ski that i can think of that will do all of those is maybe an atomic thug (no rocker but still fun as hell), and the bent chettler is prolly too small for you.

line mothership and skis like that which are heavier/stiffer with only nose rocker are great for ripping big mt., but not so great for jibbing.

personally i think the s7's would be a kick ass ski, and they are making it in a 195 this year. i'm sure they would be sick, but pulled some triggers on some on3p wrenegades.
