Pow ski for dad haha

im getting some pow skis for my dad. hes like 220lb haha and 6'1. he doesnt ski that aggressive and hes not that good. hell want something that basically makes pow skiing easier, that is good in trees and good enough on groomers so he doesnt hate them. he also already has mantras for everyday. cheers.

prolly want something somewhat tradition with a minor rocker...try the new seth's in a 179, they measure out to like a 184 or something so the wont be too small

190 Moment Ruby - Traditional fat pow ski (112)192 Moment Garbones - Fat all-mountain with small rocker (105)192 Moment M1 - Fat all-mountain & super stiff (105)190 Bibby Pro - Money

dont know specs on mantras so i don't know how they compare, but i'd throw some prophet 100's in there just cus they perform so well on everything (including pow).

Line Motherships, Prophet 130, or 100. just some more options, the motherships and 130s have tip rocker just for refrence, and the mother ships are 111 at the waist.

another vote for seths.

Don't get moships. They are stiff and might be too much ski. Prophet 130s just seem...so unnecessary. SFB might be nice through.

yeah

well the k2 obsethed is sick in everything even in the park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it poos of the armada JJ. Its the best park ski ever and better than the kungfujas. and ur dad gonna get the obsethed just like his son so they can pop 5's in the park whenever while ppl with jjs will like sit and be like do u reckon i can 1 this small

Way too much ski, way too much reverse camber.

Get Moment Rubys, Seths, or Prophet 100s depending on what you think he would like best.

I have some 2008 190cm 4frnt EHPs, 104mm waist, hardly used. These are a perfect for a straight cruiser, just not palyful enough for me. I am letting them go for like $190.

186 bibby

dont be scared of the rocker, they still work well on goomers and will make pow sooo much better than a regular cambered ski like the ruby

I'd get him a 182 czar. I don't think a ski around 190 is right if "he's not that good"
I'm trying to talk my dad into a pair of czars. I skied them and though of him right away lol

I'm getting my dad pow skis for fathers day and I have no clue what to get him... I read this thread but I think he might need something a little different...? so rather than make a new thread I'm asking here. He's 5'10, in really good shape and a crazy good skier. He used to be a racer and he's totally stuck in that mindset but he's starting to realize that fat skis = major fun... any suggestions?

Look into the Line Motherships. One of the stiffer powder skis that an ex-racer can actually pressure and get some feedback out of. I've put several racer types on both the 185s and 195s, and people are amazed at how stable the ski is without being overpowering. I personally ski them and can tell you that they're a super versatile ski that your dad can charge on.

If he's at least 170 lbs he can ski either the 185s or 195s, but it comes down to what he wants out of the ski. The 185 is a great all mountain powder ski that carves well, but is still nimble enough to ski trees well. He'll start looking at the 195s if he wants a specific powder ski that is stable at any speed and is charging everything pretty quickly.

I'm 6'4" 190lbs and personally ski the 195s; they are more maneuverable than you would think, and are amazingly stable.
