Pow/Park Ski

Yes, i've done my search. But i want an honest opinion. I'm looking for a ski that is wide enough for the back country skiing i do, and that can rip in the park. I was looking to get another pair of line skis, but which pair would be the best? I dont want to go above a size 166, which cuts out alot of lines all terrain skis. But let me know what you guys think..

Look into getting some line anthems, they slay park, and are wide enough to ride pow. You can get it in a 161.

I don't know what size they come in, but maybe next years planks? With the rocker and being a more "all mountain" version of the Reno Rocker.

the blends.

the elizabeths would be sweet too.

lineskis.com has some pretty good info about what to expect from each ski.

look at the blends, the anthems, and the elizabeths.

you can get the next years kung fujas. they come in 169. this years is a great park ski, and it fleets good in pow. and with the rocker it would be even better

Yea, i was looking at the anthems, not to sure i want another buttery pair of skis since i have the invaders now... But i did want to try out a pair of the Elizabeths or even the Blends. I'd love to snag a pair of Elizabeths just because everything is on sale!

take in mind that the anthem is designed as a versatile park ski. it is fat enough for some pow, but still a park ski.

if don't want a noodle, then check out the blends. they are perfect for what you are doing.

good deals on lines...

Yea, i mean i would like another pair of park skis, but i want something that is durable for those sudden cliffs in the glades. I'm using the invaders right now and they work perfectly fine, but i would like something wider so i dont sink into the pow. I might just see if a local dealer has a pair of the elizabeths to look at and see if i'll like the length. And then buy them online since the prices are cheap, unlike here everything is still full price :banghead:.

Im tired of everyone calling the anthem a pow ski just becuase its 93 waist.. its not a pow ski get it through your head. i know its all mountain but there are many other skis to pick up in quiver then another anthem

get skis that are as tall or taller than you. i dont know line sizes, but my chronics kick ass. others to look at are...

anthem

blend

ar6

nordica ignition

i would take the ignition in you spot. a dude at one of my hills has em, and they look way fatter that my chronics, but he still kills everything.

how big are you and how good of a skier are you? because 166 is very short, if you were to go just 5 cm longer a whole nother slew of skis would be opened up to you

disregard this.

but a long ski is better in every way, unless it doesn't fit you.

get at least a 176, a 180 would be bad either.

believe me, you will wish you had a longer ski.

i bought a pair of 165 trouble makers as my first twip tip last spring (i was 5'10") thinking that a slightly shorter ski would be easier on rails and spins.. and i know i am 6'1" and every time i look at them, i feel a pang of cold remorse.

i pretty much hate myself cause my skis are 10 cm too short.

but whatever... i ski southern PA, so i don't need a super balling ski. i have a little trouble with really heavy crud sometimes.

bottom line.

get a ski that fits.

Exactly, thank you for the awesome responce. I have used 180's before and they're to big for my liking. I'd like something in the upper 60's or lower 70's which the elizabeths are. Again thanks for the responce man!

just got back from st anton rode my anthems in the park......owned.................2m fresh powder...............owned.................groomers...............owned .................... so wat im saying is get the anthems bro u cant go wrong

anthems would not hold up in 2 meters of fresh powder.

anthems=a park ski with extra width that will KEEP you up in powder.

bottom line

still a park ski.

I would get the anthems but i already have a designated park ski, so i want something that can shred the pow, and still kick it in the park. My mind tells me to snag a pair of Elizabeths, and i may end up doing that..

my friend hates his blends and is selling them because they are to stiff and hella heavy for park but he has the o7 o8 idk about this years

Umm Live Life 2... Best all around ski out there right now. I use it for everything and haven't been let down yet. The 3 stage rocker is the best in the industry, lets you have the fun of a rockered ski in the pow but still carves super well on groomers and kills it in the park. Just ask Ian Wade, from park, pow, to urban this ski is hands down the best I have ever been on.

this dude had them pretty short but was nailing out rails, boxes, and pulling huge 3 s off these good size kickers

s7 is a 115mm underfoot, reverse camber, reverse sidecut ski.

Definitely pow specific

Moment Night Train 171? Reno Rocker 171? Either of those could work depending on your priorities.

Blends. This years or last. I have last years and they float pretty well being 90 @ the waist, and shred it in the park. I would imagine this years are better in pow but not as good for the park. I havent skied them though, so maybe not, I hear they're softer

I would say go with the K2 Kung Fujas thats what I have been riding this year and they have killed it in the pow and in the park and with the changes for next years models it should be killer
