Pow days in a season

How many pow days have you gotten so far this season? how many have you gotten last couple of years? average year?

this year, rolling up from the bay, i've had i think about 4 or 5 of them.. out of 32 days skiing, thats a pretty decent ratio. about to have a 6th one tomorrow though, that I will be mighty stoked upon.

maybe... but 80 is closed for a hundred miles from the state line near reno to applegate...

been closed for three days

Cal trans are such bitches. Let people drive. If people get in accidents then thats fewer idiots out on the roads.

nah.. cant... gotta be back for work fri-sunday, and friday is my only 8 hour day this week, so pretty much cannot be sick.

i'm lucky enough that my weekend days are tuesdays and thursdays... every other day, i either work or toil in class.

ooo. bummer. well let me know if you go up next tuesday or thursday. maybe we can meet up. ill be up pretty much all week and i might be able to get clifford996 to come around too.

that doesn't work. They people get stuck and crash and make a huge mess. If there are wrecks and stuck people the plows can't operate and the snow builds up even deeper making it too deep for the plows to push up the hills and they have to go to zauggs which take even more time. The bottom line is if dumb people would stop crashing and getting stuck then the road wouldn't be closed as often, but as it stands they don't trust people when it's really deep. Plus the majority of the time I-80 closes is from accidents, not snow alone.

Caltrans is on the ball enough that it's never "too deep." They have those plows rolling constantly during storms. The fact of the matter is, they close the road because they are lazy and don't want to deal with the accidents that will inevitably happen. When they close the road it turns away all the gapers who don't really want to go skiing that bad, then we are stuck waiting for caltrans to turn their man-gina back into a cock and sack up.

A lot. There has only been one day I've been to Kirkwood this year where there wasn't fresh snow in the past 24 hours, and I've got at least 20 days at Kirkwood. I'd say well over 10 decent pow days this year, and 5 bluebirds after big dumps.
