POTENTIAL SKULLCANDY BUYERS, PLEASE READ

if you can, read it all. everyone needs to know

this is a note out there to anyone who was thinking about purchasing

any sort of skullcandy product. this pertains to their piss poor

customer service.

i ordered my skullcandy camo hydro pack in early august of 2008. at

arrival, there was a pulled seam on the face of the book bag, but no

big deal, i'll sew it up. when school started on august 26th, i started

using it, and i loved every bit about it. about 2 weeks into school,

the face of the bag ripped open. since skullcandy has a lifetime

warranty on everything the sell, i decide why not just send it back.

they get my back back in early september.

after about 2 weeks, i call and ask them when it will ship out. they

are very apologetic and say that it will ship out the first week of

november. well, midway through november, still no book bag so i call

back. once again, they say they are sorry, and they havent sent it back

because "the ship that was bringing them japan caught fire, and the

bags sunk into the ocean in the sea container, and they could only

recover few." they said they were waiting for the ones they recovered

to be cleared for distribution, and that as soon as they got cleared,

the first one was coming to me, and it would ship out the day after

thanksgiving. it was whatever, because by this time, ski season was

almost here and i just wanted my fuckin book bag.

november 29th i call skullcandy, to try to acquire i tracking number

for my book bag. oh wow, it hasnt shipped out yet. how fucking

surprising. they say that they've had some issues and bookbags have

been mixed up between their two ware houses. this whole time i've been

polite, but i just told him like dude, just please get me my bookbag as

soon as you can. thats all i want. he says that he is going to put in a

personal message and that it'll ship the first of december at the

latest.

december 10th i call to see where the fuck my shits at. they tell me

that they are sorry because they've been caught up in the holiday rush,

and that the earliest they could send it out would be december 29th

because they had to wait until they sent all the ones out for

christmas. i tell them that it was my birthday present on august 11th,

but apparently they could give less of two shits. so im like, well

atleast itll be here soon enough.

january 5th i call skullcandy AGAIN. the women apologized a lot and

said how sorry she was about all that had happened (by this time i've

talked to every fucking employe skullcandys ever had. rob, mike,

amanda, etc.). she said that she was going to put in a notice that it

had to ship out the 5th, and she would overnight it and she would

e-mail me a tracking number. i was like hell ya, can't wait.

on the following monday, the 12th of january, i called again because i

don't have a tracking number. they say that it will ship out for sure

today and they'll e-mail me a tracking number. it shipped out the 12th

of january andi got it today the 15th.

i open up my package today, and

1. its the same color but its the older fucking model. at first i dont give a fuck, i got my bookbag back.

2. open it up to find it doesn't have all the peices that i sent back and the cords are fucking everywhere.

3.in the front pouch there is fucking used chapstick nd a fucking miller lite jacket. used fucking chapstick people.

4. i plug in my ipod, and the fucking control panel on the outside that

controls your ipod is fucking broke. the bag DOESN'T EVEN FUCKING WORK.

the whole time on the phone, i never cussed, i never asked for free

shit, and i was always patient as hell. now im fucking pissed, and i

need a solution. burning down their factory is number 1 on my list as

of now. someone help me on what i should do. i dont want to have to

send it back again and go through all this shit, seeing as when you

call your on hold for about thirty minutes. this fucking blows

sparknotes: skullcandy sucks big fucking gorilla nuts. fuck them

Alright man, that story is the perfect opportunity. Here's what you do (the key is sound pissed, tell them your pissed, but dont offend them)

call in, say right away, i need to speak to a manager, demand it. When your on the phone with the manager tell them what happened. You got a backpack that was pretty poorly made, you sent it back and had to wait 4(?) months to get an older model, used one that still had objects from the last user and also that it was broken.

Tell them i want a new one shipped out today, and i would appreciate compensation, maybe a very very nice pair of they headphones or store credit or something, for the months i have had to wait only to get another used backpack. They should hook you up.

I bought skis and it took them a week to find out that they were actually sold out and they never even called, i had to call. So i spoke to a manager and said hey man, i dont want to spend much more than i did, and i want some good skis. So the guy said i will go check, one sec. He found a pair of Fischer Addicts and gave me a sick price on them, nothing you would find on any website or store. He shipped them out that day (tuesday), and i got them friday. I was really happy with the outcome,

Like i said, this is the perfect opportunity to get some sick stuff. be aggressive man

But seriously you should call and yell and bitch and curse and try to get some free headphones out of the deal. Take pictures and attach them to the e-mail and threaten to report them to some sort of service. Seriously used chapstick? That shit could have herpes on it. And by jacket I assume you mean the little paper on the bottle, that means someone was drinking on the job. I would definately get free headphones out of it if it was me.
 
yea i agree with the guy a couple posts up.
sometimes you gotta get a little mean with them or they won't take you seriously. Anger almost always gets shit done over the phone.
 
Yeah, skip the bullshit and take it as high as you can go. Im sure Joe Schmoe, Mr. Pick-up-phones-at-skullcandy has about zero power within the company. Do you really think their 'personal recommendation' will do shit? Well I think you can answer that question to the top.

You could also throw around words like 'Better Business Bureau' and ask to speak to a higher up.

Ive had nothing but good experiences w/ skullcandy. Ive used the lifetime warranty on headphones multiple times and never had a problem. I guess that means you shouldn't buy backpacks from them?

i bought something off SAC the other day, i really wanted this other color but i just bought it in some ugly yellow instead, but i had a plan. i called up BC and said hey, the color i want is out of stock on SAC, but its in stock on BC.com, so can you just switch it out? hes like, nah, whats on SAC is whats on SAC. so i called back, just said hey, lemme speak to a manager, told him the exact same thing, he had no toruble changing it, and kept asking why i couldnt just ask a normal rep

so just keep calling, ask for managers right away keep pushing man, i guarantee you will get what you want if you put effort into it
 
That's so fucking dumb. There has to be an nser who works with skullcandy. You could definently get them to hook you up big time.
 
the ship fire was funny.

i sent in like 3 pairs of broken headphones in early november. got one pair back early january, and still waiting on 2. in the meantime broke the only pair of skullcandys iv ever actually boughten (defective). and have 2 3 more shitty defective headphones to send in.
the only reason i buy sc is because of warranty and they used to honor it. Now its gone to shit. friend sent in that pack too, they prob sent you his back cuz it was all fucked up and that panel on the front was broken and the chords and shit were all fucked up. I specifically remember him carrying around chap-stick in the front pocket too.
 
Here in NZ we have consumer protecting laws such as the consumer guarantees act which pretty much means If you buy something and it breaks like how yours did within a reasonable time you can get whoever you bought it off to replace it or repair it. Ive used this a couple of times and most business's are very aware of these laws and do not want to try them. Im sure in the US you will have similar laws to these so dropping these into your convos will get you alot further than asking politely. Ring them again and tell them tell them to get you as high up as they can and then tell them your story and say its your right to get the product you paid for now. They have your money, you have no product. Once some one higher up the chain gets your point he ones below them will get your stuff sorted for you or get shat on by their superiors.
 
i have never had any problems with Skullcandy although I have never had problems with the products themsleves I own Smokin Buds, iCons and SKPROS (which are accually very good so don't tell me theyre shit quality or I don't know headphones) and not once have I had any of them break or malfunction, the only issue I ever had was losing a little rubber piece on the Buds but that was my fault since i puleed on them too hard in my pocket and the piece got pulled off while I was walking, no sweat just put on the replacement. yes this sucks but often companies fuck up that's just how things work have you seen Saga or Salomon this year? Missing shipping dates making terrible skis and not warrantying them but these guys are for the most part legitimate companies working for YOU the consumer
Spark Notes: All i'm saying is if you don't like them, don't give them business but don't try to boycott them in front of their target market. This isn't a scam they are running here, someone got fucked over and that sucks but the world isn't perfect so tough

even though i did just shit all over skullcandy, i never specifically said "no one buy from skullcandy ever again." i could care less if you went and bought a product from them right meow. im not boycotting them, im just letting people know my story to protect it from happening to them.
 
That sucks. I wont even consider buying skullcandy ever unless I see that they compensate you in a decent way, and make up for all that bs.
 
some kid at my school took a dump in someone's backpack, NO JOKE. all over his books and everything. he gets so much shit for it now (no pun intended).
 
that sucks man, whatever you do, ask for the manager, that usually gets people to give u what ur looking for. and next time, don't sew it up, because then it gives them a reason to think that it wasn't a factory defect, just send it back. if all else fails, try the better business bureau, i don't really know what they do (hahaha), but i heard their name, and they sound like what you're looking for, just google them or something.
 
Wow.... that sucks. FUCK skull candy... all the headphones i've seen people use always break... fuck their customer service too....
I hope this shit works out in the end for you... and I probably wouldn't buy or tell your friends to buy their products any more. That's Bullshit.
 
If this is all true, this is a very sad day for consumers, when one can't even get what one paid for.
 
thats so fucking bogus. i would be livid. this thread is probably the best way you can get them back, think of how many skiers are reading about what a piece of shit company they are. personally i think their stuff is crap, its all just image, but whatever.
reminds me of a story they showed about customer service at stratton. this dudes daughter took an american airlines flight and was treated horrible and called a spoiled brat by the flight attendant, who obvious thought nothing of it, it was just a teenage girl, little did she know that girls father gives seminars on customer service and has told hundred thousand people plus that story.
 
"working for YOU" exactly you dumb shit they should do it well. which is why he isn't going to give them business, and neither am I. he is just warning fellow skiers that this company treats its consumers like shit. perfectly legit. that was possible the most retarded rant i have ever heard.
 
I agree with this dude^.

I broke my Hesh Skullcandy's and they replaced them within a week. Maybe they just suck at making backpacks.
 
I can't speak for their actual headphones, but I do own a pair of Buds and I was very disappointed in the sound quality considering how much they cost.
