Just wondering if anyone knows the average amount of posts on ns each day? Cuz I was readin on another forum that with there average 2,000 posts a day it made them one of the largest online communitys.

Wondered if we were even close to that I figured we had to be!!

i remember calculating that i post an average of 9 times per day. thats way too much.

although if this character ^ keeps up the quoting without actually replying fad, im sure he'll rack up more than 9 a day. and annoy everyone while he's at it.

about 4 posts a day if you go by what my join date and post count are. I guess I didn't post much in the beginning

according to the history section of the site newshoolers went online October 1, 2000. that would mean that newschoolers has been online a total of 1626 days (w/o any leap year bullshit). Not including the cult forums there has been 1538691 posts total as of about 6:40 EST 4/14/05

that means newschoolers.com has roughly

946.3044280 posts per day.

yea but thats on average from the very beginnning when there were almost no members. I bet if you just did within the last year or two it would be alot higher.

Well, look at it this way. The 1000 post average that you just calculated is the bare minimum never of posts NS gets per day. NS has grown to 20 times it's original size in a short 4 yr period. So, that means there were probably WAY less posts in the first year or two, and WAY more posts recently (when there are probably close to 1500 unique members visiting per day). I suspect the post per day is closer to 3 or 4000.

Hey, I registered today, I'd say I'm blowing you all out of the water on posts per day... and i've got 7 hours left.

Although if you count the actual time I've been on NS reading threads before registering, then, less sad.

Trust me, online no one is cool. Post count is just a number of how much you have a life outside of NS. Including me, I have pretty much no life.

and for comparison, Mattman, the official post whore of NS (no insult dude, its your label) has had, over his total membership time (not counting any breaks you may have taken), a whopping 12.548 posts per day.

Also, when averaging the amount of posts on NS, take into consideration all the posts on news/articles/pictures/movies/ and cults is a growing number.

That alone would probably double the figure.

 
i post an average of 5.922 posts per day, if my counting and math skills are right. It would be kinda cool to have a counter on the front page that said how many posts were made on the site the previous day.
