Posting legit video clips from Computer to Instagram?

Hey just curious if anyone on here knows how to take videos from your computer that have been recorded on a legit camera and post them to instagram...

Ive seen Saga and eheath post legit video clips on instagram and i cant figure it out.

whenever i transfer videos to my phone their under videos, not the photo gallery.

K+ for any help

 
For Premiere (it would be very similar in fcp/other nle just different names)--

create a new project

create a sequence setting that is 720x720

drop your video into the timeline and then go to "scale" in "effect controls" and adjust that until the 16:9 video is completely viewable.

If you want a white background, just create a white background in your editor or make a 720x720 sized white photo in photoshop

Make the sequence 15 seconds, edit however you want, etc

Export 720x720 h264 like you normally would

Put the exported video into a dropbox folder on your computer (if you dont have dropbox, get out from under that rock where youve been living and create an account).

Go to instagram on your phone, select video then hit the gallery button next to the video icon (you must be in video mode or else it wont work)

Go to your dropbox folder option from there, click your video and it will upload.

Pretty simple
 
yeah, other option is if your project is in a regular 16:9 size, then you can just create a 720x720 box and scale down to 56.5% and your project should view perfectly.

If you want a white background and your using a square tile in a 16:9 box though, i've found that if you only use the white box for the matte you have to make it a little wider than 720x720 because for some reason instagram does this as well and you'll get little black lines on your box

this took me a while to figure out as well
 
Any idea why dropbox on my phone wont let me download the video?? i did everything ehv said
 
Your drop box is all connected on your computer right? Drop box is pretty simple so it seems like you just have something small that's wrong
 
What phone have you got? I seem to recall being unable to save videos from my Iphone, that may have just been due to the format or it may have just been IOS permissions, if it's an Iphone just copy it onto your camera roll by plugging it into your usb port.
 
Anyone know how to do it on a windows phone ? i can't find how dropbox work for uploading it to instagram, skydrive don't work and it seems like i can't download my video via hotmail! ?
 
Save it as 612x612.mp4 and put it in iphoto, go to itunes and turn on sync photos from iPhoto (only "Last Import")

 
iphone 4s... i figured i got it to work tho. i think the video just had to fully process before i could download it to my camera roll.
