death cab came out with plans like last year.  And i think postal service is kinda broken up even though it is most of the same members as death cab.

The Postal Service was never a band, it was a project. They finished the project. If they do a new project, it won't necessarily even be called that again, and there's no reason to expect it'll ever happen.

Wikipedia claims that they're slowly working on a new album, and gives a possible release date of Dec 25 (christmas) 2007.

And we all know that if it's on wikipedia, it's 100% true.
