and oooh, sand. Bad memories. The first thing i did with my new manfrotto setup was go down to jersey to visit a buddy and film some surfing. I don't think the legs are ever going to fully recover from that. Such an awful noise whenever i adjust them. Maybe i'll get around to taking them apart and cleaning them out sometime.

They are bogen 351mvb legs.

The 503/351 is alright, nothing special. I've had it for about 4 years now and it's beat to crap. But, it's still pretty solid. The head has a crack in it so I'm going to have to upgrade pretty soon.

I would tend to agree. While the DSLR's have been pretty iffy so far for the serious videographer, they are making HUGE advances.

I have this camera, but i wish i had a vx1000 with a death lens. that would trump all setups.
