Post your project car

Well, since you're prying it out of me. I just recently got my 82 Volkswagen rabbit running after building a gti engine for it and 5 speed swapping it (was 4 speed).

I also have an 84 that I bought with a blown up turboed 16v engine and wasted transmission. It's set up on mega squirt injection. So far pretty much all I have done is yanked the engine and transmission. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to start tearing appart the engine to see what's going on.

Your project car was putting stickers on a truck?

I still don’t know why a stock truck from the dealership is on this page

ooooooooh, you should put the euro spec grille head lights and bumpers on it!!!! they look way better than that square bullshit

This POS. Actually I should be nice since the hardtop has been reliable and motor has handled overboosts up to 32psi, but definitely N54 issues. Also found out the hard, expensive way that a twin disk clutch is absolutely awful for street driving, car is so not what i need in life currently but it was my dream for so long.

I agree too, I thought it was funny because it’s a stock vehicle in a project vehicle thread. I saw that and was all like hold up that doesn’t belong here and bursted into laughter.

Also kinda takes a lot of extra work. You have to cut out the whole front core support and put a different one in. Along with fenders and such. I could go for some small bumpers, but I still want metal ones

It’s really not that much work if you own a welder. It’s expensive bringing in parts from Europe tho.

damnnnn that e32 is a heater, is it a i6 or v8?

3.5l 6 cyl with a manual trans and LSD. Apparently one of like 100 left on the road in NA. I put the mega squirt on it and a 3” SS exhaust. It’s not super fast, but it is super comfy.

Your fake Harley mk1 with a turboed 16v disqualifies you from claiming purist.

Putting rounds on a westy car is the greatest rabbit sin. Everyone can tell, because the rear end and the interior is still an American car.

NSers i found a 90, range rover classic, that starts up and runs, did verify this with the owner, unknown amount of miles, mid exterior condition, but not much rust under neath and a good interior condition for 1600. Idk how far it’ll run once it’s on a road but it starts atleast ??‍♂️. Definitely a project but with the price of these only going up i think it could be cool to have for funsy. Then i can get or borrow a reliable car

Project cars are cars you work on yourself, not cars you have your parents pay obsence amounts of money to keep on the road.

Nothing about your rambling the last two years about Rovers implies that you know a thing about working on cars, and the cars you talk about are not good ones for learning.

As far as project cars go it’s much more fun to upgrade and modify a car that runs well than to troubleshoot a and constantly repair one which is unreliable

maybe that’s a better idea. Idk i’m not into cars much i just rly love old land rovers and toyotas. Old G wagons would be cool if they weren’t still 120k and Nazi cars. really any old 4x4 SUVs tbh. If i get something reliable i can borrow or split halves with my parents maybe i should buy an old 4runner or disco and try to mod those? thoughts?

Get a car that runs well and go from there. There's a reason my daily driver is a 2013 A3 and not the Fiat from the thread,
