I wanna get a lot better at this. It's pretty fun. Anyone been out light painting before?

in this one the stars are noisy but I like the tree.

Went out for the perseids show and caught something nice. My camera has been extra grainy for my night photos recently though. I have some kinks to work out.

higher temperatures and longer exposures both cause more grain so you're probably noticing a combination of that. nice pic btw

Help me get better at capturing the milky way, any tips are very appreciated.

(Trying out the new embed feature so hopefully this works)

8mm f3.5 1600 iso @ 30 seconds

Same as before

The thing that I have noticed that makes the biggest difference is to find a good location far from any lights at all. I use Dark Site Finder to make sure I'm far enough away from anything.

Also Make sure you have an interesting foreground, that can really add to the picture.

A couple from a week or so ago

I have read to use a foreground with a strong singular subject.

So do u think if I got into a darker area I would be able to get a more prominent milky way? 10 minute drive west of my house I can get away from all of that.

I wonder if my lens just cant bring it out, because it seems like I'm getting nothinn compared to so some of these other guys
