Whoa, whoa, whoa... be very careful with this device. Used the wrong way it could send you back to the 1980's into a world of spandex pants, hairspray and keytars! A world where many lost their ways. Be very, very careful.

I’m already addicted, I love lo-fi production and this thing does to great. I should’ve bought an 8 track instead!

5 fin boxes? Pick a lane, jeez… jk, keep us updated on this should be sick.

so i can ride it as a thruster or a quad fin, it’s pretty common.

i made my own blank from scratch because shipping a premade blank is stupid so it’ll be interesting to see how it comes together. my next step is making my stringer and glueing the blank up.

I bought these tires for free from my boss. They are pretty terrible but I exploded the Maxxis stuff I had on before. Getting either continentals or wtb next. Have really good deals on both.

What did you use for blanks? Ive heard of people getting decent results with home Depot foams

i made my own blank out of 3lb density polyurethane expanding foam. I would highly recommend not using home depo foam and i’d also highly recommend not doing what i did and just nutting up and ordering a blank from greenlight.com, they have a thing where they ship the blank in two pieces and you glue it up yourself so it’s a lot cheaper shipping wise. up to you but if you do anything i’d make your own with this expanding foam rather than glue together thinner sheets of home depot XPS. i’d also check around and see if you have any local XPS manufacturing factories around you that sell 2 or 3lb density XPS foam. if you can get a brick of that locally it’s the way to go.

my mom used to love to play scratch offs and the lotto. today i felt a calling to get some. sort of reminiscent i reckon. one time she won $35k on a scratch ticket! they got a new deck with the dough.

big money no whammies!

fun fact: half of lotto money goes to winnings (before tax) and the other half goes to great outdoors colorado. goco funs a ton of projects but most every municipal bike park in CO has gotten a grant from them. so really even if i lose, i win because the money goes to things and places i frequent. probably wont lose those

I do a weekly lotto and scratcher purchase. I call it my stupid tax, and if I lose I know it goes towards education, some outdoor programs, and lowering my property taxes lmao. So whatever.....I probably wont lose this week

Been building up my steel steed of bikepacking destiny this summer.

Started with a base-level 8 speed, Marin Nicasio...

Slapped on Microshift advent X, some Gravel bars, some Cable Actuated hydraulic brakes, and loaded it up with bikepacking bags... Pics for later once I have everything all oriented right, but I'm liking it so far.

not scared of desheathing the rope on a fall? always wanted to try rope solo, and my local crag has bolts at the bottom of the route, but the hownot2 videos of hard catches on progress capture devices kind of scare me away from it. even if if you dont break the rope i still feel like it does some damage

Debated going with 2 micro traxions, but decided to try out a roll n lock instead for one.

Honestly I am personally not worried at all.....only top rope solo for me. Hownot2 has a couple scary vids of desheathing using progress capturing devices, but those are all dynamic falls or high fall factor falls or high force falls. (i think the petzl microtrax pulled the sheath at like 5Kn and the rollnlock at like 6ish?

Either way, if your set up is feeding properly you should never have any forces coming close to those. Even on a lead whip you really dont see forces above 3.5Kn. The big fear for those desheathings is with a static rope that isn't feeding through your devices properly. I am using dynamic so I am not really worried about that at all. I also have plenty of old retired to TR ropes so I am not worried about teeth really doing any further wear and tear. I've had buddies use toothed devices for years with not really any noticeable difference in wear.

The far more likely failure IMO is a failure to properly check your gear, especially because there is no buddy system. Leaving the Microtrax in pully mode, (or same for rollnlock), rope rubbing on a singular point, or fucking up escaping the belay from progress capture to rappel are going to be far more likely IMO.

Im sure youve watched it, but the forces to de sheath come around like a third of the way through this video. Or if anyone else is interested in climbing information HowNot2 is the GOAT

How do you climb by yourself... SAFELY??? (youtube.com)

This has to be the dumbest thing I've bought in a long time. You can smoke 5 joints at once with this thing lmao

Had 0̷ plans to buy skis, but the local shop had these 70̷% off... okay then. I never buy new skis, but I did today. I also have never wanted a pair of K2s particularly much, but these look like they will nicely suit my needs. 99 underfoot, titanium, 191s. Yahoo.

1096684.jpegNot particularly good looking but they were 280̷CAD (207 for the stars and stripers) I will rock them.
