Just copped two 6 month $5,000 CD‘s with the majority of my savings at a 5.15p daily compounded interest rate! Call me a finance bro. We building wealth ???

Why would you lock your money up in a short term CD when basic savings accounts have equivalent or higher interest rates with no end in sight?

Are you getting more than 5% on savings right now? I put a bunch of money in a 5% 11 month CD last fall because i didn't trust rates to stay so high

shout out my dads credit union. this one ilm only making about a 700ish the two of them but i don’t spend the money and i don’t see y it should sit in my shitty base key money market account making .9% interest annually

Your CD terms should explicitly say how much you're getting but the math doesn't add up. At most, you're getting about $130 per CD over 6 months, so $260. Unless the bank is paying some lump sum bonus, this sounds way off. Regardless, unless you need liquidity, CDs sound fine and will keep you from blowing it all. Probably your dad's goal and maybe he doesn't trust online banks.

Pretty much online banks only. God I feel like a bot but yeah my betterment account has 5% apy currently. That could drop of course whereas a CD is guaranteed, however the way things are going, short term CDs are unlikely to beat out high yield savings accounts. This account has unlimited withdrawals. It takes a day or so to transfer our, or if you have a betterment checking account, it's instant. Then just withdraw from an atm. https://www.betterment.com/friend-referral-offer?referral_key=YmVuamFtaW5iYXJ0aA%3D%3D

In person and big name banks suck dick for interest rates because they don't need to. That's strategic to have higher CD vs savings account rates because they want your money in a fixed period so that they have more reliable reserves to loan out funds. Money in savings accounts is much less advantageous since customers can pull it out at any time.

Some of the big name in person ones have gotten better but nothing comes close to these. Just Google "highest apy savings accounts" and a few articles should result comparing a bunch.

I am officially a homeowner as of Friday!

Stoked and terrified lmao. House is equal parts very nice and shithole. But it is on probably the best neighborhood in my city.

Tons of potential. Great set up. Nice size yard too.

Totally has a ton of potential. The owners prior to the last ones had redone the kitchen, and top floor with all of the bedrooms/a bath.

Unfortunately, the lazy bastards that we bought it from didn't put any work into it, Yard was rough, dead grass and 5 foot tall weeds, has a mouse problem, the washer blew up and flooded one of the basements. At least I have caught a few of the mice, and we have two cats that should take care of any others that decide to show.

On the bright side though it gives us a lot of room to add value.

Finally got my hands on an X100vi. Took over 3 months from when I ordered it to finally arriving. Takes some damn good photos for a pocket sized camera.

Dude it 100% is! There’s soo many people with great deals! And since my gf lives down there I can just buy stuff and have her pick them up for me!

Bikepark season is almost upon us. Single speed is gonna be lit af. Just need to find a cog but it's a little annoying finding something reasonably priced as I have an xd driver. Like sub 50 is what I'm looking for.

I bought the Season Kins this spring, can’t wait to have a soft playful carver again. My entire quiver is big chargy skis so I’m looking forward to a change.

i really wanted something wider, carving oriented and with a progressive mount point and this thing at 106 with a twin tip and a 17.5 m turn radius at -2.5 rec mount point is so perfect

Super boring but a dryer. OG one took a shit. A week later the washer died. New washer arrives today.
