If all other variables are held constant, does adding weight to a ski improve dampness and stability? That seems to be Evi's argument here. I'm not familiar enough with ski design to know if it makes a legit difference.

See I was under the impression that a heavier central “piece” (nocker, certain bindings, etc) on the ski wouldn’t increase dampness but I feel like I see a decent amount of people citing something along those lines (whether correct or incorrect). My initial thought process would be like Cy’s where you integrate materials across the whole ski.

Yeah, and that's another weird thing, the weight attaches at the contact point between the rocker and camber. So it's far out on the ski. So it'll definitely affect swing weight, and also make any sort of grab where your skis cross have the potential to catch on each other?

Why on earth would I want to add 400g of aluminum weights out near the tips and tails of the ski? It's gonna be less fun to slash and jib in pow.

The location of the weight makes perfect sense. The further out on the ski, the more effectively will affect the ski. Placing it at the intersection of the rocker and camber ensures it doesn't mess with either of those profiles. Putting it forward would reduce the effect of the rocker and bringing it back would reduce the effect of the mass.

Most damping masses (in skis or other engineered designs) have to be spring loaded to help counter the oscillatory motions. (Think the moving weights on race skis.) If they are rigidly fixed, added mass affects the vibration, but it should only provide as much damping as the air resistance it adds for viscous damping (negligible). Adding mass to the thing you want to vibrate less will make the amplitude get smaller, but it has more momentum, so it takes about the same effort to damp it. Location and length of objects affect vibration, too, so maybe adding mass to that location really does help, but I'd be surprised if it was noticable enough to want to mess with that system while touring. My skiing experience can be improved much more with a 400 gram Coors Light I can piss out during the downhill

Yeah love these boots so much! Especially since they actually fit better than my old boots which where too big☺️

Really thinking about buying body armor because every mf and their dog is getting pieces. Also because I always wanted to just chill in the crib in full 3A armor.

no idea what that 3a stuff is, I just like shooting from a sporting/competing & hunting perspective.

haven't used body armour since the army released me! ;)

The material supposedly stops a .357 but I guarantee it won’t stop my barret with AP rounds ?

Boutta put 1/2” steel plate on my house and car , the world is going more nuts everyday, either that or become a mountain man

3A (IIIA) refers to the caliper of bullet its rated to stop. 3A stops most common rifle rounds up to a 30-06 (I think). Defenitly dont want to have to actually test it but it would look really cool on the wall (on some casey neistat shit). I would get the full kit with arms, groin, and thigh protection - the heavy shit.

Thank you for your service. I hope you never have a reason to strap armor on again.

Sad thing is… ya don’t need it for a war, nor invasion

ya need that to take your kids to the mall ?

Fr not a bad move. Especially with incoming food/water shortages and climate change refugees I think we might see some really grim shit in our lifetime.

Even my junior year of HS 5 years ago I felt like it was risky going to school. I always felt like the cafeteria was the most risky part so I would just go have lunch in my car or at a resturant with friends. Today I would probably throw a ceramic plate in my backpack just incase. Its only like $300 and can save your life from these savages.

I used to jokingly preach that it would one day be neighbor against neighbor …. So sad …. Now I actually worry I was right, if the masses knew, and cared about how fake and bad for them “food” is omg , it’s the reason I’m a farmer now. Resources are thinning, people just B nuts! I just wanna ski and eat real food man, have kids go to school like I did, ya know where u go and learn and never worries never ever about being shot ? When the rock n roll kid wasn’t nuts he was just rock n roll and guitars

I had some Smith Squads that were stolen in 2019 so I’ve been rocking my old goggles ever since. Been thinking about upgrading for years. Finally pulled the trigger:

Also, look at how sunfaded straps on my old goggles are

Pretty much just bought a Orange Th30 amp gonna use it in stereo with my Rocker Terror 15. Was stupid cheap for new so I couldn’t pass it up

Been wanting a good small seconds dressy quartz watch for ages... and this citizen is definitely the best option I've found. Happy to add it to the collection.

I have one - a seamaster 30 from the 1960s. It needs a CLA pretty bad, and might even need a new mainspring since it doesnt operate for the whole power reserve. loses a lot of seconds every day. Just unreliable altogether. I just need to take it in and have it done, but I've been lazy about it and focused on other nonsense. Lately I've only worn it with a suit.

This Citizen is definitely the most I've shelled out for a quartz watch but I wanted something brand new and a bit unique. Definitely different from the Timex chronos I often wear for quartz days.

They're freakin great man... I don't know why Omega doesn't bring out a reissue of it because it's a beautiful dressy watch with some practical application being that its technically a dive watch.

Instead they keep fucking around with ass-ugly seamasters and constant speedmaster reissues circlejerking themselves that they went to the moon lol.

I actually really like Bulova's lunar quartz watch, but I wish they had a mechanical chrono version of it to compete.

And a bunch of small binding and skin parts. Gonna find out if I can happily ski a 145g binding for most of my touring this year...

Having a real hard time not copping one of the last two chipotle bananas, I keep lookin…. It’s just like someone else gonna appreciate them more then me
