Nice but it looks like whoever mounted the scope didn’t know what they were doing. The iron sights are definitely interfering with the scope. Either raise the scope with higher rings (not ideal) or get rid of the iron sights.

Is that a Savage?

I mounted it and they aren’t interfering. You’re an idiot. Stick to skiing

Savages are pieces of shit by the way. It’s a ruger m77 Hawkeye Alaskan. If you knew anything about guns you would have known those sights that are “interfering” are a trademark of the m77.

Ha! Called it when I said "it looks like whoever mounted the scope didn’t know what they were doing."

Can you even fully open the bolt with the scope on it like that? Even if you can, it's definitely in the way of smooth bolt operation. Do yourself a favor and take it to a gunsmith and have him do it right. Oh, and spend some actual coin and put a decent piece of glass on that rifle. Who knows, maybe you'll even occasionally hit what you're aiming at.

Nice yearling moose. My .22 cost more than your ugly Ruger and would shoot circles around it.

Your dick-waving pics and rifle "knowledge" are very much misdirected. I have an affinity for fine firearms and hunt one heck of a lot more than I ski these days and am fairly proficient at it.

Than how come you’re so retarded?

and everyone knows the 1st years taste the best. Not out here trophy hunting just putting meat on the table.

Lets see your moose pansy. Since you hunt so much and know so many things about firearms.

I have more tact than to post pictures of my harvests online. And I would post pictures of my firearms but unfortunately I just recently lost them all in a tragic boating accident.

Hopefully. Definitely going to take advantage of getting my lenses refreshed by Canon, as well as using that 30% off repairs to fix my 35/1.4 that I accidently broke a switch off.

Sweet! Almost as smooth as my WWII German 7mm Mauser. It was made in Berlin a long time ago!

No scope option there, just long and short nonadjustable built on site. But the action of the bolt!

Bolt action is the best man.

I have an M1 Garand and it’s my baby.

Gary got in trouble for eating the dogs from the local shelter. He decided to go after the wild ones to put food on the table

An average pack of wolves kills 36 moose a winter. People don’t rely on wolf meat for food, they rely on moose. And yeah where I’m from people still rely on moose meat in order to actually survive a winter believe it or not. Sounds crazy to a lot of people (especially city folk) but there are still places in the world where people can’t just go to the store and buy their food.

So I guess what I’m trying to say is, try telling the guy who lives in a cabin year round 70 miles away from civilization, who can’t go get groceries that the animal that’s wiping out his food/survival source shouldn’t be culled.

Until we can maintain a healthy moose population where I live, I’ll continue to support and participate in the killing of wolves.

They are beautiful animals though. Definitely don’t do a happy dance after walking up on a wolf in one of my snares who is still alive. Reminds me of a scared injured dog, and makes for some very sad and difficult moments.

Didn't know that, about the number of moose that a pack of wolves kill a winter. It's super interesting. How many wolves in a pack on average? Also how long does one moose last for, let's say a family of 3 or 4(humans)? Also how many wolves, individuals or packs, need to be killed for there to be a balanced ecosystem, with humans included in that?

It would be pretty interesting to me if someone would quantify the number of moose to wolf to human population in an area for it to be balanced.

EDIT: My b for the questions. Just pretty interested in this stuff.

The largest pack I’ve ever seen was 13, usually its more like 6-7 on average from my experience though.

For me a single dude, one moose would last me most of the winter if I used it sparingly. So a family of 3-4 would need 2 moose per winter. Obviously moose meat isnt the only source of food for people here, but it is the favorite and the most sought after. Lots of people grow their own food and harvest other animals such as deer and goat too.

There’s 3 main packs of wolves on the river i live. Besides myself and a few other guys who trap them, those packs have no natural enemies on the river. Bears dont mess with them and wolves run the river. So by doing the math those 3 packs will kill almost/or more than 100 moose this winter.

I read a number a few years ago on how many moose a single wolf kills per year and it was an amazing number, but I can’t remember it so i wont give false info if i can’t back it up. i dont have an answer to your last question, and neither does DOW where i live. All i know is there are about 30-40 moose shot every season on the river i live during the 30 days hunting is permitted.

So run those numbers and wolves kill 2-3 times more moose than people do in my area. Moose population is holding somewhat steady right now, but there are starting to be signs of lower numbers which tells me more wolves need to be culled in the area. If a pack of 10 wolves kills almost 100 moose a winter, than killing 1 wolf saves 10 moose a year (dumbed down logic).

people aren’t allowed to shoot wolves where I’m from either. Wolves must be trapped only. I usually only end up with 4-5 wolves in my traps per season. So i like to think I’m saving 40-50 moose a year (once again dumbed down logic).

like everything else

half say hunt-farmers,hunters, trappers

half say hunt- conservationist, wild and free ppl

I’ve got a post war Czech Kar98k - 8mm Mauser! I could totally nerd out but basically it was built in CZ Brno (factory that builds CZUSA) because they previously had built VZ-24s with the straight bolt. There’s a theory that they built for Germans in inter war period given ww1 sanctions but I won’t get into that. CZ Brno factory was in German territory in war so they had to build Kar98ks. Czechs would sometimes purposely mess up components as sabotage. After the war, the Czech government scrubbed symbols from the receivers and retooled them. Then they sold them all abroad, including to Israel for their fight for independence (where they mostly bore them out to 7.62 caliber). So I’ve got a Czech made kar98k with a mirror bore and winter trigger guard. I love it. I’ve found that I really just like the military surplus wood grain bolt action rifles when it comes to guns. Really want an MAS 36 too.

Quite the trivia. Maybe I should take some photos, or short video with the old Mauser.

I use a pair of "Kiss Holiday Platform Boots" for that! 7 inch rise, baby!

They have flames that start from the bottom! Keep the feet warm!

Wish I had a photo of them, but too lazy to do all that now.

They work for the women though!
