Okay, Got the Dell XPS 15 a few days ago. Sure I read about problems folks had with them, yet as they have been building them for a while now, I hoped all the bugs would have been worked out.

I got the audio problem. Sending back to get refund. Had pretty good luck with Dell for years past. I'm bummed.

When I get my money back I think I will buy something else at Best Buy instead of buying online. Pain in the but shipping back etc.

If not for the audio issue, it was a hell of a deal for what's inside. Several others have had even worse issues, so maybe don't buy a new Dell XPS 15 or any of the XPS line.

We have a ton of XPS’s at work 13s and 15s. Only had one with an audio issue that was solved by a BIOS update.
 
Just bought this sick little camper, then got hit head on less than a week later. Life’s so awesome, think she’s ok though, truck not so much.

Yea, I installed their latest from Dell and it was no fix. I think the issue was connected to the Waves Max Audio Pro program.

Now I am afraid to try another one now. I guess it will be some time before I get my refund. I should be shipping back very soon. It's all back in OG box and ready to go.

I guess when they work they are awesome, but online research reveals many problems with them.

It was awesome for a few days. I had not yet even used it to produce a video.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a more uphill oriented setup this winter since I'm not going to be getting a Bridger pass. Kinda forgot about WNDR and they seem like they would fit the bill nicely, would feel like feathers on my feet compared to my ON3P Jeffreys

Bought this for my brother from Target. Says union suit so probably decently warm. He's gonna look like a total fucking Jerry but has been insistent that he needs a Spaceman suit to match his Wildcat 108's lol

So the XPS is on it's way back so I went to buy a machine in town rather than Dell Direct.

Got a Dell G7 7700. Not as much power as I had optioned with XPS, but so for so good.

I'm not gaming, so it should pump out a video quickly. That's all I really want is the speed factor.

I didn’t compare the specs but you should get way better consistent speed from the G7 because it will not thermal throttle as much as the XPS. The XPS is great but it gets hot like really hot.

Some hard core gamers thought the G7 could get a bit hot, but it has good fan controls, and they can sound like a jet! Ha ha.

Anyway, not gaming, so I should be good. Still a huge upgrade for me. It has sound controls through Alien Ware and so far so good. With this old one, I would place it on top of some ice trays and maybe a cold pack on top too. It worked, so the fan did not need to work so hard.

Learning curve is hard! I am finding out that a bad ass GPU is not as much help as a bad ass CPU.

Oh well, still working on it. Frickin' Nvidia RTX 2070!

Intel i7-10750H CPU 2.60GHz only has 6 cores

Sometimes I wish I knew what it all means!
 
getting the same cuisemart toaster I used to own bc Best Buy won’t let me use my rewards on the breville Oh well rewards are about to expire Best Buy kinda sucks but whatever

threw all my gear in there last night to test the thing out and its sweet, love all its features. Very well thought-out and practical, and for a 36L pack it feels pretty lowprofile. ive been buying their outerwear for a few years now so figured why not try a pack out, i had a Dakine backpack that lasted me from like 10th grade all the way up into college so they must be durable lol

Yeah, they were really easy to work with. It sucks driving 5 hours to buy a car, but we saved like 8 grand doing it so it's worth it haha.
