I’ve been doing a lot of filming and actually started a series called scraps, comprising mostly of whatever action sports we’re doing that weekend.

id love to upload to NS but my purple name got taken away and it’s mostly surfing/skating anyways since we don’t have snow here yet. I’ll probably link it in the surf thread or something once I finish this weeks episode.

it’s been a ton of fun and great for my mental health to be out and doing shit.

Anyone can upload to NS (Purple name or not)!

On what one? Those are just stock images

On both. Bottom buckle is protruding way large! WTF Full Tilt! Gonna drag a huge grove in the snow if you can get a high edge angle. If icy you gonna' crash!

Don't do a screamin' semen. You will get all caught up!

They have been like that since I can remember they just look like they stick out more cause the outside of the buckle matches the boot color.

Yea,okay. I guess I have not been looking close enough.

It's like that so you don't back the buckle off on a rail or other object. I've bashed off many a lower buckle on boots before.

So that's what's up. I've only seen a million pairs. Obviously I must not have paid attention to that.

let s hope the ropes wont eat this pair of gloves as fast as all my previous pairs.

hestra, pow, kinko, ortovox and every other brand I tried so far are utter trash if you work with ropes. I ll glue an extra thick layer of leather on the palm to prevent that like usual. man skiing is an expensive hobby. at least I don t need a season pass this year.

Why such long screws? 13cm and 16cm see 90% of climbing use, with the remaining 10% being divided between 10cm and the very occasional 19cm. In general the longer screws are useful for V threads and not much else. I've used a few 19cm screws when protecting super chandeliered ice, or in the spring when conditions get soft. If you're just starting a rack of screws, return these and buy 16cm and 13cm. Most climbers will carry a single 19cm or 22cm on multi-pitch for making V threads and that's it.

I've never used a single 22cm screw, and I've climbed ice very extensively. It's worth noting that the thread length (what actually holds) on all of the screws is the same, with the exception of the 10cm. The longer screws are just for getting to the "good" ice through whatever is on the surface. If the ice is solid then put in a 13cm as it is just as good as a 16cm or even a 22cm. You will pump out needlessly placing a longer screw in good conditions. Plus, lots of ice is not thick enough to accommodate longer screws.

What do you do?

nowadays almost exclusively ski touring, climbing ice/rock. or a combination of both.

I do own a 13s and 16s already. I needed a new 19 because I lost my other one. The 22s are not for me. I use the 19s much more often than 10s especially in spring and summer to get to the good ice like you said. Other than that I don t bring them out regularly. I will carry the 19s mostly with me when I am on glaciers later in the year.

Devinci Hatchet gravel bike to keep my Devinci trail bike company. Been getting really into gravel lately as the mtb season winds down, it's awesome:

Dakine Stoker 3L Goretex;

Needed something with MIPS that was a bit more lowprofile and a bit more compatible with other goggles/frames. I like the POC Obex Spin but having it in its largest size, its like a fighter pilot helmet and really only compatible with POC frames and their MIPS liner fits really weird and has odd pressure points. Started getting headaches halfway through my ski days which sucked.

My broke ass can't afford buying ascendants

Peep the BST page maybe?

Also I hope you went to a bootfitter to determine that ascendants are the best touring boot for you? In all seriousness, I hate how people default to Full Tilts. I ride what fits my foot shape best, like how everyone should.

Like I said I'm not gonna buy the ascendants. Just gonna buy New liners to my old ass Full tilt Booters and do touring stuff with them cause the Salomons sold out.

hopefully will do double duty for ski vids and design class projects

More details on this? What model? Why’d you pick it? I’m in the market and looking for advice.

it's a panasonic gx85. so far i've been borrowing other people's cameras for class projects, finally decided to sack up and buy my own. copped one on ebay for $275 so i saved a good chunk of money over buying a new one.

besides taking good project photos, i wanted a camera that i could use for skiing, and the gx85 has 4k video so it was a pretty easy choice. it's also much smaller than a traditional dslr so i won't need to haul around a huge ass camera setup.

tbh i don't know a lot about cameras, i just jumped on this one because it had a good balance of photo and video quality and wasn't gonna bankrupt me

Are the lenses interchangeable or is it fixed?
