in my professional smoothie drinking experience i find it takes away from the fruity goodness of a good smothie and every now and then you are bombarded with this little black mushy gross ball shooting up your straw. you are then forced to lift your straw fighting the laws of gravity in order avoid the annoying tapioca balls. i guess for me its the texture i hate more than the taste of it (they have no taste). but they are not for me.
