Our admin office kills in December for sure. For the individual bases though this is typically a slow season for us as all of our earned income is in the summer. I’ve been throwing sponsorship asks out to local businesses and getting lots of negative answers as they are also in their slow seasons. Idk, been involved in the non profit world for a few years now and still don’t understand it lol.

when i say individuals i dont mean individuals at nonprofits. i mean like households. so like in december joe schmo can now accurately predict that he will have made $1 mill this year. his accountant says you should donate $50k by the end of the year in order to get a tax break. so all the joe schmos in the world donate in december as they have a clear vision of the years outcome. thats why giving tuesday is a thing (at least in colorado).

business wise is the exact opposite lol. they are getting to year end and taking all the shortcuts to meet their aggressive budgets. i bet mid january is a good time for those sponsorships because they will have already forgotten about last years budget scramble and won’t again until next december lol

This pizza spot I worked at did business with non profits. We did a weeklong special and donated like 5% of profits. It ain’t much but definitely helped with people coming in cause restaurants are hurting now too.

Gotcha, I forgot to change perspective there. Yeah, we definitely see an increase in giving from households this time of year whether is monthly givers giving a 13th month gift or many people do one-time gifts at end of year.

Finally found a puffy / mid layer jacket thing that has a longer fit without getting annoyingly wide and bulky.. Thank you Rab!

Gotta let us know how the new Hellbents are

Took them out for a few fast laps and these are some initial impressions. They maybe a little lighter from the unholy og skis, ski way shorter than they should like the og did too, float like a dream and want to bounce on top of the soft snow. On groomers tried different kind of turns, wide gs, tight slalom etc and the skis held a strong edge for each one. Felt super stable at high speed turns and making slashes at high speeds is crazy fun.

Damn it. Going to have to do it. I was just thinking yesterday about how much I missed my old ones. If these are basically a carbon copy but lighter I’m in.

Haven't skied on Hellbents since like 2013 so hard to say if they are lighter for sure but they are super nimble for their size, maybe more so than the bents were. There might be a review coming out with a side by side comparison... ?

Working on refreshing my living space. The Level 1 posters taped to the walls are cool and all but I find women my age don’t feel the same way. So, I ordered a frame for this old beauty I haven’t hung yet.

And ordered this.

Still in theme but a little more refined.

If they’re affordable might be worth it. I’m just personally not a fan of spineless.

Yeah Ive never tried them. Always been a classic spike guy. But from friends that have tried them it's been pretty polarizing.

50 bucks ill try it out

Ya my pop wears spike less and I’ve tried his. I just find them a waste. They do everything ok and nothing good. Ya they’re more comfortable on the walk in but I usually wear regular shoes anyways and swap into my cleats on the cart. but performance wise they sucked me for. I felt they had basically no grip. Might as well just wear regular sneakers at that point.

yeah, I can definitely see that. I feel like that might be the case with me as well........but my goal for 2024 is to stop swinging out of my shoes so maybe that will help? lmao.

Most likely scenario is I wear these while I walk the par 3 course after work a couple times a week or walk from my house to the driving range......and will probably keep wearing spikes on cart days.

Super stoked though. They should be here Friday before I fly out to Phoenix. Hopefully I am able to take them for the couple of rounds were going to play down there.
