I’ve been throwing sponsorship asks out to local businesses and getting lots of negative answers as they are also in their slow seasons. Idk, been involved in the non profit world for a few years now and still don’t understand it lol.
when i say individuals i dont mean individuals at nonprofits. i mean like households. so like in december joe schmo can now accurately predict that he will have made $1 mill this year. his accountant says you should donate $50k by the end of the year in order to get a tax break. so all the joe schmos in the world donate in december as they have a clear vision of the years outcome. thats why giving tuesday is a thing (at least in colorado).
business wise is the exact opposite lol. they are getting to year end and taking all the shortcuts to meet their aggressive budgets. i bet mid january is a good time for those sponsorships because they will have already forgotten about last years budget scramble and won’t again until next december lol
