Im going to make a pole mount to hold my go pro while skiing. I want something that is not to cumbersome, i have seen some cool designs for different types of mounts so if you have tips, pictures and/or ideas please post them

I would have put in gear talk but fewer people browse there

easiest way to make one IMO. buy tripod mount (4.00$) and get a 1/4 bolt and wing nut. drill a hole in a pole, and yeah, you get the rest.

Yeah mine is like yours but instead of buying the tripod mount, I just used the black plastic adjusters that came with it.

ok i dont have a gopro, but if i did i would attach it to a kite/parachute of some sort then have a 20 ft long cord or so. giving off a cool like heli follow cam effect, idk if it can be done. and has anyone seen this before? (not like skiflying or whatever with actuall parachutes, just something to get the gopro airbourne)

I just bought the GoPro Hero 2 and Ive been using the chest mount. It makes every shot extremely smooth since my head isn't completely still at all times. I know people hate videos being posted but heres an example of how smooth the chest mount makes things.

the chesty is really good for back country or big mountain. Im stuck in Ontario for now and runs down take like 2-3 mins lol. that why I mostly ride park ...

again with the butt-slap-paddle-mount really? OP just buy the damn handlebar/seat post mount from gopro so if somehow it breaks gopro will replace it when its under warranty!!!!

going to be making a diy steadicam soon, ill let you guys know how it goes and post a vid if its good

i wraped a bunch of duct tape around my pole and then used the handle bar mount its the easiest and you dont need to carry around any extra things

use a old pole or something like that, then just use the handlebar seatpost mount wich you can buy from gopro.com put osme stickers on the pole and there you go a nice gopro on a stick

My pole mount is similar to this except i took an old ski pole and flattened the end and stuck the flat mount on it works very well. The nice thing about using the ski pole is it has the handle/grip already on it with a strap.

i as well use an old lax stick, perfect lenght, super light and just use a hockey grip job and youre set

If you don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on the chest mount, just grab an old rucksack, combine some of the straps with the elastic straps from the Go Pro and create your own chest mount. It took me about 30 minutes and it works flawlessly. :)
