i remember my brother bringing this CD with him, it was burned, idk where he got it from, but on it was coldfusion, a warren miller film from back in the day. looking at it again gave me chills

In 99 I saw somebody pull a huge three with the original 1080's, I was riding straight skis at the time and begged my parents for twins. Finally got them in 02, been history since.

its amazing how many skiers Cold Fusion influenced. Plakes segment in that is still one of my favorites of all time. the music, the riding, just him in an essence. and seeing Doug Coombs is really sad as well. i still got the VHS cover on my desk.
but, i already knew about freeskiing prior to Cold Fusion. i saw skiers in the terrain park alot at Sierra at Tahoe and i found Freeze in Albertsons and its history from then on out.

The edit Ready Aim Fire by Vital Films which featured Andrew Wickes, Charlie Lasser, and Sam Ferguson was my first taste of the freeski culture and I loved every minute of it. Even the music influenced me.

yeah. so many good films came out around then. its sad that so many kids here say "omg wtf he sucks" when you post a video of Vinnie Dorion.

yeah, vinnie D in ski movie 2 inspired me, baby cool your jets!
he was by far my favourite skier back in the day and i give him so much respect for some of his later segments, where he kept up with the young guns, landing switch in pow and stuff

i don't really know my "first contact" but i remember the moment that got me hooked, hold onto your seats boys and girls...

so there was a group of kids at my hill (tyrol basin, wisconsin) who were all really sick when i was just a little gayper, i was sort of into freestyle ( i liked to catch big air and straight slide boxes) but i wasn't quite a newschooler yet. so one day (as a young 14 year old) i'm hiking the C-box, trying to get the whole thing straight slide steeze, and the group of sick kids are over at the camp fire, and one of them walks over to me and was like "dude if you just pop 90 degrees when you hit that you'll slide it perfectly". with my idol standing right there i couldn't let him down, so i hiked back up there and gave'r. something came over me and i "popped 90 degrees" and slid the whole box...it was epic. and like the rest of you have said, the rest....is histoy

watched xgame sometime during high school and saw tanner ski, after that i started going out on my snowboard with my skier friends in high school, my friends then brian, kevin, and chris, got me to change over, it was just obvious how much more fun it was. 2 weeks later i was skiing everything on the hill, and ive been skiing for about 5 yrs now

back in the day, cant really remember what year it was cus i was young, somewhere in between 1995 and 1999, i was at some ski hill in quebec, i cant even remember which one, i think it was either saint-sauveur or tremblant or something. anyways, i was riding the chairlift back up with my parents, and the "terrain park" was under the chairlift, there was just like 2 or 3 sketchy fuckin jumps. i remember all these snowboarders were straight airing it and shit, then out of nowhere some skier comes and throws a diiirty laid out backflip. that was the first time i saw twin tips, a terrain park and a skier getting air. i was really impressed, and even though i dont remember all the details and whatnot, i always remembered this skier doing a huge backflip. that guy is part of the reason why i decided to take up freeskiing instead of switching to snowboarding like all my friends were doing.

it was from the first time I went skiing, I was in 4th grade and begged my dad to let me take snowboarding lessons but he kept saying "just give skiing a try, I bet you'll like it" so I went up the run with my instructor and was a natural, later that day I saw some kids on skis do a flip in a half pipe, and bam next year I got a set of "shaped" skis WHOA! and then 2 years later in 7th grade I got my first twins...I'm 20 now its been a fun ride.

the very first cratch FS, saw some guy shredding with them at tremblant probably in 01 or 02. got a pair the season after

yearbook by msp was mine, must have watched it 30 times, it was also the first and last time i saw steele spence in something good

In vermont, first year skiing, saw a K2 skeeze issue and picked it up. it was like finding jesus. bought twin tips soon after that. that was back in 04 I think

I think I remember seeing this other movie, can't remember the name, that has this gas mask as the cover on a black background. Can't remember the name.

propaganda was the first movie i actually bought. i guess the first newschoolers i was aware of was the line team back in like 99

loon mtn trip 8th grade couple of friends made me try some jumps and boxes, (they had me rent twins) got addicted bought my first pair of twin tips the next season been doing it since, once i started it took me a few yrs to start making and watching edits and get on NS the hub for free skiing communication

13, by poor boyz. It was playing in the lobby at a warren miller movie (snowriders 2 i think). I wanted a black hooded sweatshirt with the number 13 on the back of it sooooo bad after that

iv been skiing since i was six, one day that the ski expo i picked up a copy of level 1s long story short and the next season picked up a pair of twins

I won ski movie three at the first comp I ever entered and Tanner's part blew my mind. My Douglas and Cr also had epic parts

Unfortunately I couldn't find CR's part on youtube.

parentol advisory by heavy hitting films, its the oldest movie i have, but i saw yearbook and it was my first real exposure to newschool

uhh probably when i saw my best friend come to school with windells headphones. i asked him what it was and he told me about newschoolers and windells. i went on newschoolers, then went to windells the next summer. 7 months later, here i am.

I actually have just recently gotten into freestyle skiing (within the last two years).
The first movies I saw were Idea (PBP) and REALTIME (L1). I thought they were cool at the time, but the next year (last years movies) I saw some movies that blew me away, and became addicted to watching ski movies haha: Turbo, Slamina, Empty Pockets, Claim, Jib Jam, etc. Also started watching the classics (Teddy Bear Crisis, Yearbook, Happy Dayz, etc.) Too bad I still suck at park-skiing haha.

I remember my first trip to PC utah a few years back and i saw this dude in baggy ass lime green pants and a tall teal blue jacket bomb down the hill right next to me and the park had an orange fence bc it was closed and he popped an ollie and did a nosetap 180 over it. I remember from that moment on I wanted to be that guy.

so here I am :D
