I'm pretty sure the 'concept' for the GT was the GT40, the GT90 was based of the GT40 too though.

circa 1969

On that note, i saw one of these in downtown T.O and it was pretty sick, definitely a dream car.

American cars were fine in the 50s, they were modern back then, they just haven't moved on since.

yeah that would be dope, i remember an issue of eurotuner magazine i had form 2006, and there was a huge spread about the R-Gti in it, and that was 4 years ago, it was this exact car, and i noticed this video was from 07

yeah i kinda agree, modern american cars just suck now. they were awesome in the 60's and 70's, muscle cars definitely have their place, they actually made quality cars back then. but now there really isnt anything special at all about them. thats probably why rather than coming up with something new, they are all copying their 60's and 70's styling. i still love corvettes, its the one modern american sports car that i still really like, its still a raw great all around sports car that can compete very well with europe and japans best sports cars.

I'm not sure why, but just recently I've really started liking MK1 golfs hahaI just like the way they look somehow and they'd be awesome to drive with a RWD conversion.

The thing was rebuilt basically from the ground up, it's beautiful. In the June issue of Performance VW mag.
And as someone particularly fond of Mk4s, I especially love this R32:
