That's really cool, I don't know If I said it before but I love the intricacy that goes in your work.

And I just need to find a spare bit of time, coming weeks are filled with exams for Med School so I'm actually busy learning (for the first time ever) so I'll probably make the video when that's over. ;)

 
Lawrence, do you not use photoshop to create the two tone silhouette first, then look at it as you draw? I've seen numerous tutorials on how to do that online by people creating very similar pieces to yours.

I'm not trying to call you out, believe me. I would just be very impressed if you are able to create the silhouette from a color portrait by eye.
 
I only first convert to black and white with a load of contrast applied just to get an easier image to use as reference. But half the fun is figuring out what supposed to be drawn, and I'm not posting the ones where I failed. ;) And I do monochrome because it's easier and way faster then multiple shades, Stalin in the shades of red took much, much longer then several monochrome works combined and I have a whole pile of multi-colour pieces that I still have to finish, but I can't figure them out anymore.

And yes I've tried the stencil method to cut down on time and make it easier but I can't make it work properly, since I always seem too lose way too many details - especially in the eyes- in the process therefore I only occasionally use it to figure out a general outline.

But I'll make the promised video soon, any requests for a girl?

I'm working on a piece which is inspired by Eric Pollards art, once it's all penciled out ill post it up!

got this done a couple weeks ago. all heeled and even touched up a bit! didn't want to get a regular wolf, so i went for a more abstract water-color vibe. absolutely loved how it turned out! hope you guys do too!shout out to Mickey @ Evolution Tattoo

One of my best friends wrote a short story over the weekend (it was an assignment for his creative writing class, however he writes a lot on his own as well). It's about a twenty minute read. In my honest, unbiased opinion, I think it's excellent. I won't post it due to the length. It would be irritating to scroll through. If anyone is interested in reading it let me know and I will send it to you. I hope someone is. It's really good.
 
thats really cool man, you could totally go mad with the reflection in his glasses though, seems a shame to leave them plain black
 
wrote this about the relationship i currently have with a friend of the female variety. let me know what you think, i wrote it pretty quickly.

Winter’s cold came far too quick,

It cuts in much too deep.

The snow blows in, it falls too thick

Its weight strays into sleep.

The freezing air, the misted breath,

The hands that tremble so.

Your warmth shall herald Winter’s death,

And bury him below.

The wind it howls, the snow comes thicker,

The birds, they hide in shame.

But still I wait and feel no flicker

From candle or from flame.

The nights draw in, their darkness lingers

Far into the day,

And creeping closer, twisted fingers

Tear at things to say.

Things once said and once confessed,

They’re nothing now.

Just sounds.

Just breath.

A vacuum forms in the space between us

And staves off Winter’s death.

 
Drew this a couple weeks ago. I was inspired to when I heard of the Western Black Rhinos being declared extinct. It's not my favorite work, as there are a few things I would've liked to do differently, but I'm fairly happy with how it came out.

well done! I definitely felt the emotion--I liked how you spoke almost entirely in metaphor but added just a couple moments of concrete reality to give it some grounding. sounds like things are getting stale and the relationship's a little forced waiting out its inevitable end(?).

it's sad, really, but the kind of matter of fact, objective prose, made it feel not as disappointing to me--more of just cold, empty, blue recognition. just an observation, and maybe I'm understanding it wrong, but I like it for what it is.

I drew this the other day. basic, but I like it.

I am not much a drawer. But it seems as though you should accentuate the shadows and highlights a bit more, especially in his forehead and lower lip. The lip is a too aggressive of a transition where as in the picture and in real life peoples lips are closer in shade to our skin.
 
basically for this one I just drew the outlines in pen, scanned them into photoshop, touched them up a little bit and then colored it in digitally. any feedback would be cool though since this is my first digital drawing676412.jpeg

 
that's really cool man, if anything i'd say just work on Joshs face a little because something is throwing me off, with the shut eyes or just the angle of his head. I love these guys though. I played a show with them recently and they were so chill. great job with this
