Scanning works the best but I always just take a picture with my iPhone with the paper at an angle so there isn't a shadow on it from my hand and phone. I also don't face any sources of light towards it so the shading is equal. Graphite pictures are really annoying because it reflects light.

Take your desktop light aim it at the paper and put one or two sheets of A4 (depends on thickness of paper and strength of the lightbulb) between the light and your subject.

This gives a nice white even light all over the subject.

sorry but i was talking about him specifically. the rest of you can feel free, i'm my own biggest critic anyways, but i don't need tips from that guy.

Hi everyone,My name is Victor, I am behind the blog you mentioned above. I am actually quite upset by Lawrence's behavior. As it was said imitating as an exercise is totally fine, make people believe it's your own creative ideas is plain stealing. I have reasons to believe that the drawings submitted by Lawrence are just printed directly from my original stuff, just adding a few pens to "make believe" . On some of them he didn't even bother to erase my signature...

Anyways that's just sad. I asked him to erase the stolen stuff from his blogs.

Get inspired but PLEASE DON'T STEAL IDEAS guys ! It is soooo much more rewarding to develop your own ...

Lol Lawrence, what a fucking asshole. Posted a few of them in the "Post what's on your mind" thread. Straight fuckin plagiarism.

As for the art there is no excuse, I copied the sketches from some examples giving to me at some car sketching workshop half a year ago or so. I never knew they were yours and I apologize profusely. I removed them i removed them immediately, and feel like an ass, as I should feel like.

I've had some of my photographs seen 'stolen' and that was very frustrating, so I kinda know how you feel and that makes me feel even worse.

I just visited your blog and your work is very impressive, I feel terribly for taking advantage of that.

Some coke sniffing idiot who regrets things a lot,

Lawrence.

And I really deserve to be slammed down for those car sketches.

I did however made the stencils of the girls. even tough no one will believe that now and that's my own fault for which I deserve to be scolded.

@Lawrence aka terrible new username

Thanks for removing the stuff. There's no need for any self bashing, you did something stupid, you erased it and apologized. End of story.

You made me curious about your car sketching workshop, where did that take place ?

At a creative incubator (at least that's what it's called). You can rent the space to give workshops.

Really informal setting, some old teacher at a local school gave them. My then girlfriend took me there.

Finally got out to my parent's house and finished up this project

its all made out of my old broken skateboard decks.

I got inspired from this rendering of a more realistic belle from beauty and the beast by some other artist:

but I'm planning to make more with original themes later on

Unless it's the image being really low contrast, you might want to go back and darken some lines, and erase some other parts. I'm not saying like do the same as sliding the contrast slider all the way to 100 in photoshop, just add a bit of true blacks and whites.

thanks for the feedback, problem is I dont have a good eraser atm, so erasing very small and fine parts wont work. I I dont really know about the darkness. It looks a bit darker in real and it was indeed a pretty bright picture she gave me.

Hi Guys !

I'd like to show you the edit I made this winter using a GoPro HD Hero and many mounts :

If you're king enough to give me some notes about it, this would be great ! Thanks

Yeah I can definitely see some similarities between our styles. And I definitely agree, his older work catches my eye a lot more than his newer stuff. Thanks for sharing though.

Here's my latest pop art piece. I'm pumping these things out like crazy. Which means 1 every 2 weeks haha...
