How long after getting your wisdom teeth out can you ski. I got mine out this past friday and Im hoping to go skiing this coming Saturday. I think i should be good. Anyone know

Ps. T3's are such an overrated drug

Hahah I got vics too... oh vicodin.. Mine were out in summer soo.... However I was able to flip around and shit a week to a week an a half later. I am sure it varies from person to person

My recovery wasnt bad at all...didn't even need the oxys they gave me.

Everyone is different, you'll know when youre ready. Just pray you don't get dry socket.

I'd just ask the doc about your skiing conundrum.

I quit the T3's since the stomach pain outweighed the tooth pain relief and the boring high it gave you.

actual dentist giving advise here:

IT DEPENDS.

Some people feel fine 24 hours later. Some people will swell up like a balloon the next day or 2 days later. You will want to manage the pain. Some people are just fine with ibuprofen and or tylenol. Most people will need narcotic pain meds like vicodin or percocet. You will not want to ski on these drugs. Period.

Next you want to avoid getting dry sockets. This normally only happens on the lower teeth and happens when the blood clot pops out. This can happen when you exert a lot of force like exercising or weight lifting. So I would take it really easy skiing the first 72 hours to try and avoid getting a dry socket.

Spark notes. Take it easy for 72 hours and enjoy the pain meds and tv.

I'm having a dental implant with a graft and removing 4 wisdom teeth tomorrow. Any chance I'll be good to ski by Friday? The wisdom teeth are crooked but not impacted.

Unless you have complications such as dry sockets, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to ski by Saturday.

well seeing as a few teeth you never used don't really impact your ability to ski then I would say you are fine

people are such pussies these days

I got mine out last year, and I was up and walking around after a couple of days. If you have a week, you'll be fine. Just try to avoid crashing, don't want to bust the sockets open on accident. Good luck out there man, hopefully I will be getting out there soon too.

didnt read the comments - IF u got all of ur bottom wisdom teeth it sucks, the top ones are easy as fuck. ******Rinse with salt water. I said fuck it and didnt do that and then a week later my cheeks were all inflamed and shit. I had bone specules grow out of my jaw. I had to go back to the oral surgeon and he hacked them off. I played lax with them and it blew when I ran because they would ache. I recommend going skiing when the tenderness is gone

i had 6 (had 2 extra) out last fall. I had 3 days off work then the weekend, and was back to normal besides eating by monday. Besides the swelling, it didn't really hold me back from doing anything. So chances are you will be able to ski no problem.

Also, if you can, try to get perqs or oxys instead of t3.

got mine out an hour ago. hello percs.. gotta be able to ski by saturday cuz i gots me an on snow job interview...

It totally depends on the person/how bad the removal was. I got mine out last friday and I was up and running 4 days later at full force, I went skiing this saturday and I better than fine hahaha

I should also mention I didn't swell up, or even need the oxycodon they gave me, so I might be a special case hahaha

Pretty much this, it's diffrent for everyone.

I know people who got fucked up, dry sockets and everything. Me though, I got em out and ate a cheeseburger for dinner that night, no problem.

I have to be the first to make a Wisdom Teeth and Constipation thread post?

I only waited for the doctor to give me the OK to go skiing, but as long as you do it in moderation. I'd recommend going to the follow-up appointment before going skiing.

i skied the day after i got mine out. Took some meds and crused around with my friends. Every now and then i would start bleeding out my mouth from the chairlift.

I'm suppose to get mine out January 2nd, really not looking forward to it, at all. One wisdom tooth has a root that's hooked around the nerve. wooooot
