Post Whats on your Skmind

Picked up some Fat-ypus M5 in 188cm athlete stiffness. They felt so perfect in 7-12” of fresh today and even handled chop well. One of those skis that immediately clicked. They’re stiff underfoot but soft at the tips so were easy to pivot through tight trees while also feeling stable at speed.

Just changed my username from Themailman, so a kinda sweet username is free if anyone wants it (if you always send it, that is)

I just skied my face off at Snowbird from bell to bell. Holy shit was there good snow up top. Haven't done that in awhile and man my legs are tired.

Loving how wintery the spring here has been.

Watched a kid huck himself off flying squirrel too, that hit is psychotically big

Whoever made this binding freedom template makes me question their skills. You're supposed to check the scale with a ruler using inches or cm. The problem is they have it measured exactly to 8 inches yet if you verify with cm, you will end up having to rescale and have wrong hole lineups.

It says "Check your print scaling 20cm, 8inch".....8 inches = 20.32cm not 20cm.

Over here wasting my papers you fuckers

Or does it literally correspond to the side of the ruler? If so what the fuck label that shit man

inches: used

My back protector really saved me yesterday holy moly. Somehow set badly on a sw cork 5 and never came uncorked. Landed flat on my back at the bottom of the landing. My pelvis and glutes hurt like a mofo but my back, where I mostly landed, is pretty okay, just a tad sore. I also broke another helmet on a other overshot 360 but not a trace of a concussion this time. Shoutout protection gear

I prefer that Google drive from Germany. I find binding freedom incredibly sloppy. Not a fan at all.

season is closing in the last local resort on the 3rd of april :( Snow was amazing and then 6 days of 10 degrees celsius at 2500 meters ended it fully. So sad, i couldnt even ski this weekend because i had a competition :( Last year 50cm fell on the 3rd of april, now we just got 50cm on the top. This season has sadly been very unlucky for me

When will Ahall being the best park skier in the world get old? Just realized he's only 24/25years old. He already has as many x games medals as Dollo, and Henrik is 7 years older than him. I mean wtf, how many more banger vids and medals is it possible for this guy to get?

rodeo 7 blunt was super freaky to learn, had to keep my head pointed downhill and stare at my tails until i grab then turn my head much later than i typically would. 100% a big jump trick, i really wanna take it to 9 soon

Feeling super grateful for the weather/conditions I’ve gotten on trips this season. Was expecting spring crust and slush at Crested Butte but ended up with soft snow the whole time and some pretty nice pow Friday and Saturday.

Awesome mountain with some real gnarly terrain. Probably the steepest stuff I’ve skied anywhere in Colorado.

FML

I ordered some new on3p Woodsman 108s 3 days ago and just now they drop the factory finds sale. I didn't expect it for another month. I don't even care about the price difference

They're selling woodsman 108s with the cat camo topsheet for $600. Honestly my dream custom build and half the price of ordering them bespoke. My skis shipped today so I think it's too late to swap them out.

I might just buy them anyway and try to sell off my normal woodsman when they arrive without ever using them

99% sure they will take a return on the stock woodsman's.

Factory finds has a no return policy tho

Looking for some new durable, pnw proof outerwear. Love the flylow stuff but want to try something from other brands. Looking at the Strafe Nomad jacket and bib set. Anyone have experience with that? Gotta be pnw proof. Wet snow, rain, freezing rain, -20 and the lightest fluffy pow ever and everything else. AND needs to be able to take a beating, hitting rocks, trees, jerrys etc. Flylow is the most durable and tough option I have tried yet. Unique colors and lots of them is a plus, bright and obnoxious is even better. 1234

Not an answer but a question: what happened to Berthoud ski resort? It’s was around since 1936 but closed down 2002. What did this place look like while it was around?

Here's a segment from 1999 featuring Robb Gaffney (RIP, you legend). The mountain would close a couple years later but this was the general vibe of the spot... Big sick cliff drops... a rad spring park with decent jumps... a solid crew of guys who could absolutely shred, and ski patrollers who weren't afraid to show you up when they werent busy keeping the spot safe. Things were different 20-something years ago, man... Skiing was really soulful back then. Places were run by families and locals, and it was a totally different experience.

Now its more often a clout contest instead of just enjoying the sport itself - who can show off that theyre staying in the best hotel, drive the coolest subaru to the parking lot, have the fanciest ski gear, find the best pow, take the best gopro shot etc... back then, skiing was more often than not, the most important part of that laundry list. There was not as much distraction.

Do y’all think on3p would replace one singular ski. It’s completely fucked and the base is coming out cuz of the edge and I’ve only ridden them 15 ish days.

That’s what I was thinking. On3p is a baller ass company with good customer service I think I might have just had a bad ski. The other ski is completely mint.

True, doesn't hurt to ask. I snapped my ski just randomly skiing, they were fine up to that point. Good luck
