Bootpacking is sure a cool way to earn a season pass. Yeah it would be tough but you'd get to be outdoors, get exercise, get a pass, and add volunteering to your resume. I didn't even know this was a thing til today.

Ski patrol does it to reduce avalanche risk. I've seen em doing it before early season at places and had no idea til now

I knew this ski company wasn’t going to make it when I saw haw many different models of ski they were making. Classic error for so many small companies starting out I think

so excited to have one last year coaching my boys. they’re quite literally my family at this point. spent part of my summer with three of them

Dimito positive mind is making better outerwear styles than most any American or euro freeskiing brand these days. The designs actually echo where the culture is at and their stuff isn’t ridiculously priced either. I haven’t purchased it so who knows on the quality but the designs are way more interesting than anything I’ve seen from most everyone else

Their jackets look great. Sick color combinations.

Potentially stupid question but would a shop likely decline mounting a pair of bindings like this because of the one missing rubber stopper on each brake?

if you ask them they will say not. also those fks bindings are over 10 years old right? they could potentially give you shit and deny you for that as well. might give you an additional form saying you acknowledge the worn piece and assume all liability. shop dependent and even employee dependent

I figured this was the answer, thanks

When I say money I mean like literal millions

Yeah professional film companies can be extremely lucrative if you get your foot in the door or know somebody. Some of their commercials are badass.

Damn, the Bozeman and SLC Level 1 stops seemed so much more hype than the Denver one. Felt like half the people didn't even know who any of the skiers were at the Denver premieres. This city's ski culture really disappoints me sometimes.

Denver has a lot of ski industry but also a lot of people who don’t know shit about skiing

Yeah wasn’t tryna spend 25 a ticket, back in Bozeman it was max ten dollars, even free if you got lucky.

Honestly i love you all.

Feeling very supportive right now of all ski homies.

Don't count dollars, count experiences.

not even true lol

There is nothing really in his skiing that stands out from the rest of the pros. His spins have boring normal axis. He doesn't have any special tricks that other pros don't do+ shitty afterbang. Colby is great rail skier tho and his style is definitely little bit better than spagetlis but much worse than Matej, ferdi, Ahall, edjoy.

I’m gonna have to agree on the Colby topic. Not a fan of his skiing / style so much. He is consistent at landing heavy tricks tho. Watching him in knuckle huck is always a big yawn from me, and I’m not even a swervey Bunch fanboy.

Doesn’t he have street clips in roasted?

He does, but that was like 7 years ago when he was basically a kid. I meant hitting spots now after he's become the skier he has.

Nah, he lacks style.

It’s kind of unfair to fully judge skiers just based on videos imo, esp comp runs. I get that most people will never see these guys in real life but it’s always different because you actually see and hear the personality more when the camera is off instead of just perfectly cropped shot after shot of difficult tricks. Colby always has had a distinguishable style whenever I’d see him and Dylan sondrup saucing through PC, often looked like they were having the most fun out of anyone in the park

And along that same line, the inverse can also be true. Some of these film-only skiers are insufferable assholes in person but can make a cool looking ski movie that has all the right vibes on the surface when in actuality they’re just cynically copying whatever is stylistically popular atm because they’re scared of becoming irrelevant

style does not equal personality

14556117:SteezyYeeter said:

No, nor did I say that it does. Personality has a huge effect on style, Edjoy doing a breakdancing move at the end of his run and smiling ear to ear has an effect on how his skiing is perceived. Style isn’t some objectively constructed thing, it’s a vibe too.
