Post Whats on your Skmind

You can go as much as you want. I went twice this year for punches

How often do you go to a bootfitter?

I went maybe like 2 years ago and have been having some issues this year terms of toe bang and ankle issues.

Current quiver for the east coast:

dynastar menace 98 (park and pow)

soul rider 87 (park)

For next year im thinking of selling both for keys and uppers (skis, not hard drugs)

I skied in aspen for 4 days over spring break and it made me question my life decisions. I'm a grad student in michigan. On the last day there was about 14 inches of fresh and for the first time i legitimately choked on pow while getting face shots and also ripped up one of the sickest lines of my life. A sweet little fix of the drug of skiing powder before begrudgingly coming down and back from the white room to reality. Maybe will hit some park before the hills close but not likely. It just aint the same anyway. Next year

I was doing body slides last night and I tried to go a bit to big over a roller and I reignited a shitty bruise from earlier in the week when I hip checked a rail ... kinda looked sick tho

Why do people care what other people wear? Why do people care what they themselves wear? Or do they even care? (I genuinely want other peoples thoughts on this) I feel like so many people put so much thought into what they wear when they go skiing. I have nothing against that, i appreciate a 'dope kit,' but at the end of the day I wished people would focus less on that and more on pure skiing. I think the definition of a 'dope kit' is one that you never have to think or talk about because it doesn't distract you from what's really going going on: Skiing. Why is it always a topic I hear people talking about? Skiing is an expensive and hard to access sport for many already as it is! Why add in the pressure to wear something 'cool'? (whatever the hell that means) This could just be the skier in me talking, because sometimes (as everyone does) I question what I wear and how it affects people's perception of me. I don't really have a point here besides for the fact that this 'kit' phenomenon is changing skiing from something I like to something I hate talking about. And yes, I'm sure Todd Walnuts and associates would chat about what to wear and what looked dope back in the day. But because of the way ski content was mostly released to the public back then I feel like it took away a lot of focus on the person themselves, and made the viewer focus a lot more on the skier. It wasn't the ego fest that so much of skiing seems to be nowadays. The over-saturation of ski content on Instagram does not help this, either. Makes little kids wonder what they should do to be 'cool', when in reality all they need to do is a find a buddy and a ride to the mtn and go spin some laps. Then this brings up the question: Okay, so if kits don't matter in my ideal world, then what is 'style?' I think style is when someone is skiing like their complete and unhindered 'self.' Would love to hear how you all define style.

Maybe I should've started a whole new thread for this, but sometimes I get wary putting my voice out there on the internet so this seemed like a more low-key place to do it. Definitely going to contribute to this website more from now on, I started browsing again after doing a submission for the NS open and realized how much I missed it here!

Fashion style is wearing whatever you like.

Skiing style means you can wear whatever you like.

I ski in what I ski in because I like it.

I don't give a rats ass what others might think of that choice.

Anybody in Bozeman want a free pvc rail?

all it is is a 2x6x10 with three pvc pipes screwed into it. I’ll probably take it up to bridger if there’s a tiny bit of snow and leave it if anyone wants it

How late are the mountains in CO open this year? Could potentially be skiing there in a few weeks if there’s still snow left

Looks like a 2-3 foot dump coming to the Wasatch this week ?

Could be the deepest skiing of the season for me if it comes to fruition

Loveland and a few others are like until 2nd week in may. Not sure about a basin. Maybe June if this new cycle comes through this week

Lol my pass got taken today because the person using it is a ginger and I am not

My homie borrowed my sister’s pass this past weekend to come ski with me and somehow got away with it not being a 90 pound goth child.

prolly cuz lifties don’t give a shit here lol

More so at the last days of a season. IDK where you are talking about, but I'll make an assumption.

That's why I'm surprised they took mine! I don't really care as long as I don't have consequences next season

True, it’s a pretty minor offense in the grand scheme and I feel like since they are still gettin that season pass money they would be pretty forgiving

Bummer. It can be serious. Good luck.

Last bit where I ski, people just go around the gates, and the lifties just look the other way, so to speak, so no pass sharing involved.

hmmm, maybe mow some lawns and shit or get a quick restaurant job? we got almost a month till may 1st so maybe save up some quick money and ask ur parents to meet u halfway or something

as long as u promise to provide for the fam once you make it as a professional swerve skier

Start trying to hustle. I’ve traded labor for skis before when I was in a position to do so. Strike a deal with your parents with a payment plan or something. People are more willing to accommodate if you come to them with a pkan

Would a 180 or 189 Vishnu key be better for park progression 180 seems short 189 seems long. I’m 6 feet 1/2 inch 170 pounds

Either or would be fine. It's not really about the ski, it's about practice, practice.

id say 189 if they were the wets but since the keys a little stiffer I'd say 180

You guys get hit today? We got some nice snow over at Loveland

Yeah it was pretty wild actually, went in the lodge at 3 came out 10 minutes later and there was a solid 2 inches of snow on my skis, shame they closed today

It was really coming down. Especially nice late afternoon when wind chilled out. Some of best snow I’ve skied this season. Yesterday was a bit dust on crust so it’s nice yesterday came to put down a nice lower layer for today

from the looks of it seems like that weird qst shape that a couple salomon park dudes have ridden. remco kayser (and maybe some of the buldoz crew at the time) was on what looks to be the same shape with the og 1080 yellow n black topsheet in like 2019. weird
