I feel like this years turn out for the superunknown was amazing. 3 or 4 of the guys that didn't win are blowing up twice as much as the guy that did win. (no hate on niklas) but anyone else feel the same that the people that didn't win are actually blowing up most.

i think hornbeck, dadali, costco, and i think a few other bignames were also superunknown entrees that didnt win. and look at em now. ha.
 
iam? no i dont know iam compton. and ya i know everyone knows ian compton is im just saying he is getting a hell of a lot better since his superunkown video
 
A Compton 08-09 season edit would be epic... But the reason it seems like these three are "blowing up" is because of compton's Line edit and Jordan and McChesney's parts in The West Coast Session edits and other crew edits (Clown School and/or 4Bi9 maybe). But anyway, that's why it seems like they're blowing up, Niklas will have some sick shots in Refresh I'm sure, he just hasn't had an edit out since superunknown (or now that I've seen).
 
niklas is also from europe and a lot of times kids on ns think everyone that kills it is on/popular on ns. they're not.
 
Well, that might be because Niklas is from Sweden and doesn't participate in events such as the West Coast Sessions, Dumont Cup or other Newschoolers-covered events, neither does he uploads a lot of edits. You don't have to be a NS-sweetheart to be blowing up...

Just look at Simon Ericsson who won Jib Acadamy recently. Another "unknown" swede for you north americans. I didn't see his name being mentioned even once in the thread about who was going to win, but there he was at the end, on top of the podium, in front of riders famous to the average NS'er. So don't be fooled by the lack of Niklas Eriksson-hype on NS, he will most certainly turn som heads in the near future.

ya i think tim MCHES would have won super unknown if he had some of his footage from the end of the year. or maybe showcased some of his style a little better on jumps like his dope ass rodeos hes been throwing lately.
 
corey roberts is pretty dirty too... to lazy to fetch the edit but hes got some vids one with sean jordan and hornbeck and ahmet in it ect..
 
i think people are misunderstanding what im saying.
i am not hating anything whatsoever on Niklas, go back to the superunknown threads and you'll see me posting saying how stoked i was, the kid is sick.
im just saying tim and them are blowing up just as well without superunkown thats all. seems like they are all winners, even though they all didnt actually win
 
um im just giving my opinion on this that niklas video was ill for sure but if they are just giving the winner to whichever superunknown had the best video than it is definitely compton whether he is unknown or not

There's more to 'blowing up' than having edits recently posted on NS... like being invited to the biggest big air contest of the year.
 
and to everyone who says compton is "known", mcchesney is "known etc. they dont get paid, they arnt in major movies, they arnt pro

it doesnt matter if you have seen a few edits of them or heard their name on NS
 
I dont think people on here get the fact that "Blowing up" because a bunch of kids on NS know who you are, and blowing up in skiing are two entirely different things.
 
the whole point was not to say that they are blowing up more than niklas, obviously he is going to blow up the most filming with level 1 its not even in discussion. Im saying that those guys are on a good path without winning superunknown, they are all getting crazy good and i wont be suprised if they are big name skiers next season whether they won it or not
 
Niklas deserved the win for sure. Countless good skiers made entry videos this year. It was an extremely hard decision for the whole level 1 crew. But Niklas absolutely kills, and is soooo damn unknown. He fits with the level 1 crew great, and fuuuuuuuck wait till you see his new shit from park shoots. UNREAL... WAAAY TOO GOOD!

Prepare yourselves...
 
ok well then i worded it wrong, i also said that niklas deserved it, im not taking anything away from niklas at all, i know the kid kills it, and he truely is unknown, what i was trying to point out is although they didn't win, i feel like they are all blowing a very large amount without it and i expect big things from all of them next season.
