ok so today we had a snowday so we were in my backyard making some ramps and stuff, so we decided to go make a rail. We made a 10 foot rail out of pvc and wood for 30$. it took about 1 hour to build in 3 degree weather here are some pics:

im making a rail in metals class. it's a flat down rail. 10 feet flat, 14 feet down. ya, it's gonna be sick, fer backyard anyways.

tumyeto has a 10 foot black iron i think (its black and its metal) rail, but the supports he has would catch your skis. this pvc rail you see above is pvc. nothing should catch if you can doit. we have to find that out this week or next...

i built 3 rails this season... i'm too lazy to post them...they look like his but w/ 4 1/2 pvc across the top and a lot sturdier. 1 double kink, 16 foot flat, 8 foot flat

you can actuallyslide on pvc?? my friend has so much ofit. but we never thoguht of using pvc.

just put a screw through the top of the pipe and then one it goes through the top, screw it into the wood. You don't catch on the hoels at all. The only trouble is PVC is really soft compared to metal.

If you don't want to tear your edges completley off or eat it when you hit a screw head you are better off attatching the pipe from the other side.

Drive the screws through the wood first then into the pvc from the underside of the rail. That way you don't have to put holes in the pvc.
