the mountain closest to me, Nashoba Valley, is similar. they dont even say their vertical on their website...

There are some of us that come to the west from those small areas and appreciate real mountains.

thats is fool's delight, double black

i remember 2 or 3 years ago i saw pictures on ns of an east coast hill similar to that one that avalanched into a lift. Was it that one?

I think you are all looking at it wrongly.

These hills are the heart and soul of skiing. Obviously, they don't get 40 ft of snow a year, have 3000 ft of vert and 60 ft tables, but they are there.

I kept thinking "wow, that has to be the worst ski hill in the world" then I kept getting to the next picture and repeating.... Seriously, who had the bright idea to turn those hills into ski "mountains"?

Holy shit I never thought I'd see Spring Mountain in a thread on here. I learned to ski there, hell most of us here probably started at a tiny hill like that, but they get the job done so you take what you can get.

Holiday valley had a slide last year.

They made a bunch of snow on a short-steeper slope, and the ground wasn't frozen and it slid.

Haha, call yourself lucky that you guys at least have a hill. The only way of skiing here in the Netherlands is indoor skiing, that sucks!

Welcome to Pennsylvania, where we sqeeze four trails out of what is actually one wide trail on the left side of the mountain.

How possible is it to drive or take a train to good skiing in Switzerland or France from where you are?? Is it easy to travel between countries?? About how long would that take for you?? Please be gentle as I am an american who has never been to europe??

I am just wondering how road trips go over there, here I can jump in the car(from PA) and be in Maine in ten hours with no trouble but stopping for gas.
