Here some footage from Mickael Deschenaux a.k.a Shiest D in 2000-2003.

TJ Schiller had a pretty darn cool story. He went from random Vernon kid to blowing up as the top dog in about 15 minutes with a big win at the US Open.

Bishop, isn't this a bit of an exaggeration? If I remember correctly he was killing it in movies like WAR before his big win

He's not very forgotten. Maybe someone like Dean Cummings.

This.

But first and foremost Doug Coombs! He should be as remembered and venerated as Shane, if not more so. He was a pioneer who passed trying to save a friend.

SIP; he was a great man.

Nah bro... I believe WAR came out in '07 and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong Mr. Bishop but I think TJ's US Open Big Air win came in '05 at Vail. Blowing minds with his straight up 1260 high mute on his 18th birthday. Iberg made it his mission to throw the kid a party and launch him into ski stardom... (cue sports center song)

War came out in 05... PBP's 07 movie was Yeah Dude.

War was definitely 05, and TJ's win was 2006

I'm going to go way back. Blake Barrymore, AKA the original Ted Shred.

While doing some research for this, I found that his son Tai rips pretty hard too. He's probably on NS.

I grew up watching Dick Barrymore films and seeing Blake ski. He was one of the guys that I looked up to and wanted to be like. It's funny how legends come to be and are usually myth. An instructor friend of mine years ago told me that Blake had been killed in an avalanche, but it turns out that he is alive and well and still lives in Sun Valley.

There are plenty of versions of this segment out there, but I can't find any footy of Blake skiing back then. There was one segment I remember vividly where they were Heli Skiing in the Bugaboos. It was unreal.

Yeah he stired up quite a controversy with the "fuck the spin to win". Sure glad that is over!

That was a good party night for sure! but it was 2004 and he won slopestyle that year

2004 US Open slope results

4th. Tanner Hall

3rd Tanner Rainville

2nd Henrik Windstedt

1st TJ SCHILLER

and then got 2nd that night in Big Air behind Mickael Deschenaux. pretty impressive hello to the ski world!

forgotten legends for me are the 3 Phils! but dominated and invented since day 1!

My bad, I assumed Bishop was talking about the Big Air win in 2006, which I remember from Ski Porn. Didn't realise he'd also won slopestyle
