Any debate about post counts? i dont disagree with them, merly feel that saying where are you means nothing. unlike some members (not going to name any im sure you know many) that post in unactive regional threads etc.. some of us make legit posts.

So by that logic, a post count is completely unnecessary. Once a person has been around a while their name becomes familiar, and in some cases they gain some credebility. I personally don't get the purpose of the post count (I only notice the negative side effects), but every other forum seems to have them so it must serve some kind of purpose. Now if only we could find out what exactly that purpose was...
 
I am pretty sure you should read what you are writting...post counts are def over rated...yet you are making a thread so you can replay a million times to get your post up...if i correct you have over like 600 posts this week?
 
How about we go on beating the same topic to death over and over again...

We know there is a general divide on the pros/cons of post counts. Most of the problem lies with the users who make it a big deal. Its not a status symbol, its just a number. Give it up.

Go check out other forums on the internet and find out how many of them have members complaing about post counts as status symbols. Very few. Dez22 said it in another thread that most of the people on her would be banned if this was a different board, but its not. Be happy with what you got.

Im not calling you out Sw_Steeze, this is just a general statement to everyone who makes this little number such a HUGE deal when its not.

i dont really care about post counts, they make people call other noobs, andpeople listen to others that have big post counts
 
I find myself recognizing members who don't even have 500 posts... it's all about quality. Some get cred for their number, we all know who, and some get cred for their quality. Post count doesn't mean much to me, when I had

I used to believe they were a big deal, but then I started to realize that if you posted with quality, then people will know who you are (or if you post a really great thread). Take Lil-G, for example. A lot of people know who he is or was...after that Invaydaz thread. But it is true that the people with the most post counts are respected more on NS.
 
post count shows stuff, but i recognize people when i see there name/icon alot and i know that they are giving pertinant advice and not just whoring or being a dick
 
Just b/c someone has a high postcount doesn't make them smarter, better, or anthing else really. It most likely just means that they like to run their mouth any chance they have. There can be a guy with 100 posts who has contributed more to this site then a guy with 5000 posts.

Just my two cents.

Now you can go ahead and say that I would be the one running my mouth. I know it's coming.
 
i think they are kinda important...i mean ppl start to recognize you after a while, but some ppl are whores, but im not going to name names

everyone knows that the only good way of post whoring is to start a cult and not to invite anyone and just start posting........or did i just give everyone a good idea

plus the really cool people (eg me) dont need a high post count for everyone to know that we waste alot of time (alltho i have wasted any time in a long time)
 
i think they're over rated too. people whos post counts are high post random things, but i would have more respect for people who post moderatly and actually post things worth hearing
 
i have a high post count but i think i post pretty legit stuff, and most my posts are in cults with friends where we talk about filming for like the weekend or something along those lines which means lots of posting in there
