2nd best bike in this thread, have you heard of sam jepson? he used to ride for transition... hes pretty sick. one handed manuals up on a big curb-deal at a skatepark with no brakes... he rides for blk mrkt now.

i hurt my back so bad 6 years ago on a little bike like that, i was hauling ass down the road that our lake cottage is on riding a bike thhat size cuz i was teaching my brother how to ride a bike, and i tried to clear a speed bumb and i completely forgot about teh friction brake (where it stops if you push the pedals in reverse) and so in standing up to hop, i pushed back on the pedals. long story short, i had horrific back spasms for days and couldn't leave my bed except for using the restroom, the pain was so unbearable that it made me throw up.
 
Just thought I'd resurrect this thread since I got my bike out two Saturdays ago for my first real ride of the season. It was a wet and muddy evening at the Quarry trail in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Hmmm, not sure if its the best bike on here; but, it is indeed a killer all around bike. At the time purchased, it retailed for about $2500. Comparable bike now is about $3000+. I ebayed it for $1200 and picked it up locally. It had been ridden twice and had no scratches or anything. For my only bike it gets the job done all around. But, if I had more $, I would also buy a full on downhill bike with 8-10" of travel on the front end.
 
ok, search pictures for "new ride". the most recent one on thst list, posted by me is my ride. its a kona stinky team issue. all top of the line, no actual price, but about 5 grand. if you get a good deal
 
I just got a new bike and its a road bike, my "mountain" bike is only front suspension and isn't really worth mentioning other than the fact that was the last round of univega made. My bike that I got TODAY!!! YAY is a giant... no pic yet

At first, I looked at El*Trains bike and thought, sweet, a girl who dirt jumps...

...than I realized it was just very small...

Im picking up a slightly modded (but new) Rocky Mountain Flow 2.0 on Thursday for $1000. Pics soon.
 
Dude I'm going to warn you now that that bike is either going to get you into trouble, or you just won't use it that much. Either way you are going to end up selling it. It'd be wicked wise of you just to pay for a used car in full.
 
thats the thing dude, i already have a car. my grandmother had a 96 civic she gave me for free, so i have no payments on that cuz its payed off, so ill buy a bike to ride in the summer to save gas money.
 
Hmmmm, I don't know. People who just want to save gas money get cruiser bikes or something cheap and comfy to ride. But the bike you're talking about is made for one thing... getting you in trouble. I agree with skierman. Just warning you. haha
