POST A PIC OF YOUR RAIL

Long story. I saw Andreas Hatveit's candy invitational edit from last year and he had a lit up fun box. I wanted one, but his looked like he had found some clear hdpe and had the lights inside the box.

At first I found out that they make clear PVC. I thought I could run rope lights inside of the clear PVC pipe. I found out that it is like 10 times more expensive than normal white PVC. One clear PVC pipe was going to cost about $30.

The way I made mine was to use 1in white PVC spaced about 3/4 inch apart and I have the rope lights running between the PVC. The gap is wide enough that the light from the rope lights comes through really well and makes it look like it is a lit up HDPE surface. The gap between the PVC pipes is still narrow enough that my 8 year old son can 50/50 it just like a normal HDPE fun box.

I bought my rope lights at Ace Hardware. They are like $10 a piece and I think I used 4 for my box which is like 18 inches wide and 10 feet long. I used solid blue colored rope lights on the edges and multicolored in the middle.

If anyone wants tips on how to make one of these, I can give more details.

Sorry for the dub post and really sorry for not getting back on BAJ and replying. Lots of bad personal shit going on over the past month and I actually forgot that I posted my set up.

Drop in is not that bad. Little girls have more ballz than I do, and it doesn't bother me. Because of the plastic lattice, it doesn't have to be as steep. It is a little narrow, but it doesn't feel like it screws up your stance. After 3 or 4 tries, I had it dialed. Dropping switch would be a whole different story.

The first time I dropped, the thing kind of folded up on me and I ate shit. It was because I didn't have the ladder secured and it slid back. I got some horseshoe like stakes and staked everything to the ground. That was the end of that problem.

Overall I was pretty stoked with it. I am going to get some more guys over and have a night vid session. The really sick thing about this is that I made a Zip Line for my kids that runs right above the rail. I can attach my POV cam to the handle of the zipline and pull it along with a rope, so I have my own cable cam. :-)

thats sick props, and the light inbetween the white pvc sounds like a better idea cost wise, and looks like the light comes out better though with it inbetween. are the lights fragile?

the rail is 23 feet long. the end of the rail is about 4 feet off the ground and the landing is a good slope.

another rail in the backgound. 16 feet long

yeah that does look a little too kicky, better if you're trying to do a small 3, but not kicker onto rail. Chop it.
