it actually is screwed into the wood. the nails were just there to hold it in place while the screwing was in process. we couldnt get the nails out after, so we just hammered em in further.

How exacly did you get the wood liek that, i assume you made a 2x4 frame with some ply wood cut at fancy angles for the top?

How sturdy is it?

thats exactly what we did. it is pretty sturdy, i can stand on it and wobble around and it wont move.

you drill from the other side of the rail (from the wood, into the pvc) - just make sure ur screws aren't too long.

we made a rail out of a stop sign post we found in a dumpster. its about 11 feet. we made it a down rail to do step ons in summer, but so far no success on that. i guess we'll wait till winter. ill get some pics soon. we painted it all sick like.
