POST A PIC OF YOUR RAIL

could you do some more close up pictures? also im trying to get some more rails at my very outdated resort park. How much would something along the lines of that cost

can someone tell me where i can get pvc longer than 10 feet?

OR can someone tell me the easiest way to get your hands on a metal rail like the one henrik used in his summer setup edit last summer? any help is appreciated

metal rail - find a local welder, have him do it. this will probably put you in a few hundred dollars.

as for the PVC, i can only ever find 10 feet. if you want to make say a 20 foot rail, just line them up one after another and make sure one is slightly higher than the other at the seam. then, make sure to hit it in only one direction.

as far as calgary goes the small diameter stuff is in ten foot sections, but the stuff that is 3 inch diameter plus comes up to about 15- 20 foot sections, the easiest way is to just line up the pvc with a tiny drop tho

Topsheet as in the plastic or the 3/4" thick wood right underneath it? The plastic was costly, like $25, and the 3/4" piece was also costly, ~$15-20. Those were the most expensive things, everything else was basically free. The whole thing is about 22" high, 8 feet long(short I know) and a foot wide.

thats why u steal that kind of stuff, sometimes if u just ask at some construction site they will give u an old or extra one. dont buy it!

Just finished up my first summer setup. Made a box that is 12L x 2H x 1.5'W. I used Varanda composite decking, exterior screws/liquid nails glue and pressure treated wood. The extra sub layer that is exposed on either side of the sliding surface will have metal coping, but upon getting the sliding surface done last night we moved it out to the yard and gave it a go, slides like a dream (expensive though..glad that we had a few guys going in on this project expense wise).
I am going to finish it off with some ply sides/some design or just a single color paint.

The run in is just turf over an extended ladder. It wasnt sliding well last night, but today I discovered the magic of little soap and water...now I get as much speed as I could want.
Thank you NS for the inspiration!

this year I'm using a portable ladder drop in in my driveway because i ruined my lawn last year with that

looks sick, almost too perfect. You're not gonna be afraid to scratch it up are you?

making my first box next month sometime. what did you use on the edges?

Thanks man, nah hopefully not - it does look a bit too shiny though doesn't it haha

Yeah, nice one...it doesn't actually take that long at all to make. I just used 2x2 for the frame and half inch ply wood for the panels - it's pretty solid - the vertical ply wood square panels in between the supports really stabilise it.

For the edges i used 8ft Aluminium angle (think it's around 3mm thick). I was struggling for what i could use, but just decided to try that...I read aluminium can be a bit soft and maybe catch edges etc, but i'll see how i get on with it. Can easily unscrew and replace with a steel edge or something.
