I still have the OG gopro. Might be worth some money in the future as like a collectors item? idk. shoots in like 240p but its basically indestructible

I think you'd have to hold onto the camera for quite a while before it would become a collector's item. A lot longer than the old cameras from the past.

I swear I’m not a dentist.

(canon stuff belongs to my employer but is what I use most of the time)

That is remarkably similar to my setup... about the same pack and exact same spade. But I usually roll with lighter lenses and no tele converters.. My 28-105 and 70-210 along with a prime like an 85 or 17 or 50 depending on what I expect to need usually handle it all.

Every equipment geek has GAS(gear acquisition syndrome) haha. Don’t worry. You don’t wanna see me in 10 years.

The appropriate number of cameras/lenses/pairs of skis/etc to own is the number you currently have plus just one more…

1.25 million holy shit! Did you ever have to replace anything?

So I was far from the only one to put that damage in, most of it was from previous staff at the paper. I’m not 100 percent on what had to get fixed over the years. I’m pretty sure at least a shutter and maybe a mirror box as well (going off of the paperwork I got with it).

What suction cups are you using and how do you prep the surface before mounting? A mate of mine cannot find anything he is willing to trust.

Dude, the ones on the roof are literally DIY double 6" cups I made myself haha, I secure them with a ratchet strap as backup but they haven't failed yet for me. The ones on the hood are more legit 10" that another black arm guy brought to stop the lateral play we had without those cross braces.

Set up a super sketchy goal cam last night. All three goals in the game were at the other end of course.

It's already changed a little bit, but this is my current setup for winter 22/23

And also just picked up this guy as a fun smaller carry-around camera when I don't want my big setup.

I spent the last week using this lens and was very impressed. Focused fast and is sharp as hell. Definitely a huge improvement over the old 1-4’s from canon

It sure is. I used it again for the first time in awhile the other day. My main focus in landscape photography and a lot of time these days im using my new 16-35 f4 from canon because those wide angle shots look super good when printed big, but im always irking to use the telephoto again and again in some situations. I really wish I just had two camera so the lenses could stay on at all times. That way I could shoot everything. another point to bring up is that imo, all you need for ski photography is a 100-400. It works wonders especially if its clear outside. With the snow being white, youll always get insane shutter speeds no matter what.

This past season was my first season on a camera. It was a blast, I think I got alittle addicted.

From left to right:

My brother's canon 7D- not a huge fan of DSLR type cameras but I filmed some music stuff on it.

Sony cx450-probable get the most use out of it because of the size. I want to glue on a fisheye at some point.

sony hvr z7u- I love how the footage looks with the fisheye. The footage looks kinda crisp for a DV mini camcorder imo

Broken Canon XHA1- it was working but something is screwed up with the recording. I use it as a VCR cause It's the only setup I have a cord to get my footage off of.

Working Canon XHA1s- My pride and joy(my first camcorder). My brother smoked the mic off with a ski so I threw on a XLR. I love this cam because of the grainy older look it gives. I think it's indestructible. I've smoked it on a bunch of stuff and I've gotten it soaked in a blizzard and it was all good somehow.

I want to get a proper SD camcorder at some point and maybe a 4k setup but I gotta put in a lot of time at work to afford that.

Im working on my first project which should be done sometime this summer. I wanted to do like a big mountain film with older camera. Like carnage but, with mediocore skiers. it's gonna be really low grade but I had fun filming, and it's more for my friends than views on YouTube or Newschoolers I guess. it's crazy how many cool people I've met that let me film em. I've made some really cool friends this winter. I think ill make another film next year and hopefully film some skate stuff this summer.
