Cannondale F7 Disc 2008

I love it for cross-country

yah man. SO goofy. I bet they aren't functional AT ALL. Basically, all I need it a place to put my hands (which doesn't mean that your bars need to be 2 feet wide). I was sick of dropbars because i was super hunched over and it's impractical in tight quarters and sidewalks considering i can go just as fast with these ones.
and yes it's a fixed gear.

Yeah. There's a few of us. I know another guy who skis and bikes too, but I'm pretty sure he isn't on NS. He rides an NS though.

^^ btw its a sputnic skyline with sputnic bars khe street tires shadow shit and a khe freecoaster laced with primo rims

are you fucking stupid? Human energy consumption isn't at all related to a bike being an energy efficient mode of transport. You're arguing for no reason.

I was riding with straps, got rid of them for one reason or another, then moved to platforms and just picked up new straps again yesterday. Yes I realize no straps and no brakes is stupid and dangerous. Ha ha.

I installed the bars the day of that picture but needed to buy a new brake lever (which I did the following day). It now has a front brake. Is that ok?
Seriously, people are so weird when it comes to fixies and what is considered "core". Even the shops I went into asking for a single brake lever gave me the whole "SO...is that going on your SUPER cool fixie bike? blah blah" As he's standing there wearing a fedora and prescription wayfarers. The whole hipster/scene thing is super annoying. I bought the bike because it was cheaper than buying a road bike and because it's functional for commuting (plus it's fun and I think that it's a good looking bike).

Sorry it erks me when people post pictures of brakeless fixed gears without straps or clipless pedals. It's pretty much suicide for the sake of what's fasionable.

Good to know you got a brake. You kinda brought the wrath of hipster judgement upon yourself getting a bike like that though...

No problem. I thought about that after I posted that picture..haha.
The way I see it though.....I'd rather pay 850$ for the langster and have a sweet bike than pay MINIMUM 1500$ for a decently spec'd roadbike, especially when they both serve the same function to me (and when I have another roadbike with gears to use if I venture out into hills).

but if you're a person who works out and wants to stay fit, biking is more efficient because you build muscle and endurance and at the same time get from point A to B, instead of just working out inside a gym, where the air isn't as healthy (unless you live in a big city where there is loads of smog, which wouldn't be as big a problem if the majority rode bikes where they need to go, taking up less space and creating a healthier population).

$8.. neighbors yard sale. Schwinn varsity, I think it even has original tires, but idk. I love the where the gear shifters are.

I don't know shit about bikes, and i have no urge to spend any money to get some legit stuff. But i love riding around. also where i live, kinda sucks for riding anywhere practical, so i just go for random rides. last time i rode for 3 hours, and my ass hurt for 2 days. i moved the seat a little, any suggestions?

Oh yeah I completely agree.

Single speed is the only way to go if you need a dependable commuter. Cheaper to buy, way cheaper to maintain.

costello frame, specialized trispoke, vintage brooks professional, vintage campy aero seatpost, sugino 75s, it is a BEAST!!!!!

finally someone posts a tri spoke. ha. my friend had a 5 spoke and a felt frame. and one day he got hit by a car, bent the frame in half and destroyed the 5 spoke. well over $1000 gone down the drain. now he is getting a bike over $1500. fixed gear of course

my buddy in this picture got wrecked by a bus in SF, he was fine, but
