- you dont have to read all this stuff, but at least skim it, its important stuff...

A new development is being proposed that could forever alter the foothills east of Ogden. Over the past several months developer Chris Peterson has been working on a plan to construct a year round resort in Malan’s Basin, a gondola to access the resort and an upscale residential development along the east bench.

I actually found this on the Save Our Canyons website (i was doing a report about them for school, i hate those fuckers) but that would be SICK!!! if we got a year round resort in utah us Utahns wouldn't have to make trips all the way to mt. hood in the summer.. if Save Our Canyons tries to stop the development i'll try and find out and post again, and if it comes to that maybe we can petition it or something.. anyway it would be way sick! dont you think?

for the full story or more info, here's the link... http://www.saveourcanyons.org/ when the page opens, click on the link that says, New Development Proposed for Mount Ogden.

haha lord what a desision. I looove keeping the environment cool but an all around ski resort sounds sooo $$$$

maybe there can be an agreement, only so many people allowed on the hill? if any trees are harmed plant 10 new trees for every lift tower?  portions of ticket sales go to them?  wind powered lifts? extreme fines for littering?  does are all possible solutions that will make everyone happy, think of it as a happy medium.

damn I just scrolled down and the plans include a large amount of land dedicated to houses, and a golf course.  maybe this guy can tone down his dream, I mean isn't there enough real estate in utah?  on the other side of the spectrum having a lift accesible mountain will allow more people to enjoy the mountains and their beuty.  also the yankees are up 7-4 in game 1 of the ALDS and derek jeter is 4 for 4, o snap he just hit a homer he's 5 for 5 and now we're up 8-4 take that DETROIT!!!!

Yeah, a few weeks ago when we were hitting Trailside some random guy came up and was like "If there was an indoor ski area, would you go there in the summer?"  It would be kind of sick.

If i understand what you are saying then i think you have misunderstood. They say year round meaning that it will be open all year and that there will always be activities to participate in. Like golf, climbing, biking etc. You won't be able to ski in summer.

I hope i clarified a little bit. If i was right in assuming what you guys were thinking..

But i am so all for this. We really need something here and all the opposition is pissing me off! Its a private investment. Why can't people just be happy that someone wants to pour millions of dollars into Ogden, instead of always bitching. People around here really have no insight whatsoever.

Yeah I heard about this so I sat in on a city council meeting this summer. They're proposing a terrain park complete with a to scale replica of the mormon temple as the main jibbage area. Can't wait to huck off Moroni!

Dude... it's a year round RESORT, not skiing... just a gondola for acessing backcountry and stuff in the winter then for hiking fishing, biking, etc in the summer.

do any of you really think jumbo will ever happen? i'm starting to wonder if it should even happen.

i mean, i know it would be great skiing, but you can already ski it, you just gotta work for it, or pay the big bucks. and canada (and skiing some might say) is about the wilderness, not about fancy dancy 4 season ski resorts. we've got enough of those in canada as it is, thank you very much.

A: you mean foresight

B: americans use more resources, take up more space, create more garbage, and generally use and abuse more than any other population per capita. thats why theres reason to stop this.

check out this fucking gift to humanity... Vancouver is the most contradictory, ass backwards place... or maybe its BC in general. i mean BC's chugs never even got their treaty, theyt just got a big ol shipment of listerine! check out http://www.porteaucove.com/ the website doesnt have the marketing-team "so close to nature and only 25 minutes to the city!" bolgne, yeah, bologne, that the brochures do. watch the intro... concrod pacific is just building another suburb for vancouver, but wait, theres more, its a branded suburb. its master-planned. its a community. its paradise with a cul-de-sac! 1400 homes!

im sure no one cares... i think its a goddamn travesty. but im sick of this rant, getting angry gets boring fast. but seriously, 300 million in the US now... couple billion in china and india... and enough iPods for all! the socalled advances of the past century are unrivaled...
