Possible to make a normal ski reverse camber/rockered?

Well, Ill let you know. Apparently, they will just snap after you bend them the wrong way, but I really dont care..they are old skis that are just a bit too short.

Ive used 10 Guinness Book Of World Records

3 10lb weights

4 5lb weights

a box of FREEZE and FREESKIER magazines

a box with 2 pairs of Px12's

Poker set

here is the progres so far. They have no camber as of an hour ago, and they have been bending like this for a good 2 days now

i dont know if it will work without treating it with something, like maybe softening it up by heating it somehow

thats gonna be epic if it work. but i'm pretty sure ski presses use a whole lot more pressure than that in the first place

dang your the first person ive seen thats actually man'd up and done it...sickness. i hope that works but if it does then i doubt it will last long...i was thinking that if you have a couple of electric heaters you should set them up super close to the skis so they get pretty hot and leave them running while your doing this. it might make em bend more and keep the shape longer

Thats the end result I was hoping for when I tried and failed. Your gonna want to go farther then the result you want by a long shit man.

bang on. As i have said, with just a 2 days like this, they have NO MORE camber, they are completely flat.

Post back with progress, looks really interesting especially with such little weight on it

Plus, actually weight doesn't seem like it would matter. I mean as long as their bottoming out onto the ground, it doesn't seem like more weight would do much, they can only be pushed as far the they're off the ground.

Ypu would die.

But i also read that you can put them in a sauna (if you are super rich) and that works better.

Ya, i saw on TGR that some guy put a little weight on his skis that he put on some saw horses and turned that thing on full blast.

But the ost common way is the steps approach:

i was actually thinking about doing the same thing as the guy in the stairs did with my scratch fs in 174, same as ur pros...plus ur pros have the thc core, like my fs, so i;d be really really interested in how this turns out

i think your gonna need more weight or alot more time, cause oyu figure the ski is designed to be under atleast 150 pounds of weight plus the g forces or accaully skiing it,

you should probably try and elevate it more to get more of a "bend" in it so when you take of the weight it still has a little reverse camber

good idea. the heat should help the bending process...

post back w/ some reactions cause im thinking of trying that.

Not sure that it'll work the way you want it to...But I'm curious anyway. As someone said, the reason it'll work on the Powder Plus (from the TGR thread on the stair method) is because of the metal in them that will hold a bend...but hey, you never know. At the very least I'd say you'll have some crazy soft skis for buttering on, but I'd elevate the tips and tails more, simply because once you take the weight off they are going to want to return to the original camber, so the more you can get them to bend, the better.

My Chronics have reverse camber in the tips from too much buttering and ghetto landings. However, they have had the living shit beat out of them, so it makes sense.

yeah, i've heard stories of people reversing the camber on Line's from skiing too hard

though i'm sure they're better now

what about if you get like 2 saw horses and put the skis on the with only a little weight and then with time they will sink further and further? maybe put a heater under them. cause they are meant to take quick shots of flex, but not long term continuos

Uh, you registered yesterday, and you already have 28 posts? Also, wtf? Why would you post that? completely pointless

idk about the whole using the basment stairs trick that seems like its just making one pressure point and puttin a bend in only one place

but idk it would be saweet if it works

wow that looks like it would be sick if it worked... but they'll probably just go back to normal or snap next time you ride them

this looks real interesting, but arent most skis that are rockered also have reverse sidecut also?

just run them over with a Chevy Avalanche. Some lady decided to use that method on my T-Halls. Now i have one rockered ski.
