Possible the most powerful movie scene ever

it's a bit long, and fans of the movie may agree. I know there are a ton of incredibly powerful scenes out there, but this chokes me up every time.

embed for me, the embed button sucks and won't work. Thanks.

thanks Ben. True, the opening 20 minutes are crazy, but the end is worse for me because you have identified with Tom Hanks for the entire movie at that point. It's such a poignant death scene. The scene where Wade, the Medic, dies is also pretty bad. Although I don't know how realistic that scene was (I hope I never have to find out) it was another very powerful piece of this movie.

The ending of Braveheart always kills me too. I saw that movie with my dad when I was 6 and I pretty much bawl every time I see that scene. YOu may need to help me here again Ben, I don't understand why this button doesn't work.

this part, and the Bannockburn scene after where Hamisch throws his sword, have always been the toughest scenes for me.

haha I know that, but whenever I click it, it doesn't give me the box to enter it. I just keep clicking it and nothing pops up for me to enter the embed code. It always does this, so usually I have to quit firefox and reload ns to get it to work, but I was too lazy to shut my whole browser down.

same, except the box comes up and when i paste it in it just wont load the video. if you just enter in the embed code then quote the text the video will work, but im guessing you have put two and two together and know this
but ya, very powerful clip

who saw the road? some powerful scenes in there. amazing movie but you couldnt pay me to go see it again. the scenes where the man was holding the gun to his son's head was messed up.

During the whole Saving Private Ryan I just want to yell at the typewriter/translator guy. I know that war is different for everyone and that I don't know how I would react to being under enemy fire (also I know that this movie was purely a movie meant to depict the terrors of war and it has no real basis in factual occurrences), but I just want to yell at him and say, "fucking do something, your buddies are dieing out there and you aren't doing anything!"

I think alot of people react like that. It has too be one of the most terrifying thing to be shot at.(ive actually been shot at by a farmer, scariest thing ever, but nothing compared to war i bet.)

But i agree i think i actually yelled at the tv at that guy.

Dude my dog looks exactly like Skip, he's 15 and still trucking. I'm going to cry for the first time in ages when he dies.

Well that was there goal to hold position until reinforcements arrive. But the fact that they got there just in time is somewhat cliche. But i dont like to use cliche. There are so many movies its hard not to be cliche, and keep things interesting in a good movie. Sometimes cliche=keeping the movie exciting and good.

It wouldnt be as good if they all just died or the reinforcements got there earlier and the battle as over quickly.

I was completely surprised and shocked when I saw this movie. *SPOILER ALERT AHEAD* It's promoted as funny family comedy, and then it turns out to be incredibly sad. Like, they drag Marley's death on for the longest time, and they even show the dog dying as it is being put down...it's quite horrible for children and dog-lovers..
