so sad seriosuly for such a well known succesful bloke so sad hop hes still ripping teahpoo upstairs. RIP

it wasnt a drug overdose at all....... he passed away from Dengue fever in his hotel room in texas on his way back from puerto rico and i would say he is more than likely shredding Teahupoo..

Where the fuck is this bullshit coming from??He called in sick in puerto rico a few days back, and on his way home passed away

Just read online that it could be a possible methadone overdose. there were pills in the room but toxicology reports could take up to 3 months.

I would wait till the news changes to start making accusations. Seems like nobody does that these days. I hate when people

Bro before you start soiling his name by accusing him of overdosing on drugs wait for all the facts. Fukn media with this possible bullshit.

yeh news said that he had dangy fever, went to hospital let him self out and on way home had too many sleepomg pills in hotel..

he was too sick to board his flight to Kauai but he was ok enough to ccheck himself into a hotel room? why wouldnt he go to the hospital if he was sick/why didnt he havea friend or anybody with him?

I'm reviving this thread because I'd just like to point out how absolutely horrible doing drugs (outside of some weed or alcohol now and then) is. Next time you have the chance.... think again. His wife was 8 months pregnant. He was one of the best surfers in the world. He had everything.

It is confirmed... His heart attack was from drugs. Given he had a condition that made it more likely to occur, but thats the thing about those conditions... you usually don't know you have one until it's too late.
I feel bad posting about it, but hopefully it will help others to know.

Id assume that those drugs could have been in result of injuries he could have sustained? Just saying, your post makes it sound like he was some junkie, where as those pills could have been for injuries and he simply took to many? I dont know, I dont follow surfing, just stating my opinion

If you read the ENTIRE thing, in the article from the family it says that in regards to the non prescribed drugs, that the family and sponsors had been trying to get him clean for quite some time.

he had multiple substances in his body that shouldn't have been there. cocaine metabolites, methamphetamines, benzos, etc. He may have had severe coronary artery disease but the drugs certainly were not helping.

the family hiring someone to disagree with the original report is unfortunate. It seems like his death could more appropriately and productively be used as a warning against cardiac disease and drug abuse.

RIP Irons
