Possession and Deportation.

My friend was being an idiot and packed 7 grams of cannabis in his bag on a bus crossing the US and Canada boarder. Just as they crossed the boarder into Canada the bus was searched by dogs and they found his bud and deported him immediately. Has anyone else been deported? cause we were both trying to hit up BC sometime this winter.
 
I find this very funny. Ever hear of a logical consequence? He may never be allowed in Canada again.
 
He said it may be likely that he wont be able to go back to Canada. It happened today so I'm not to sure what is really going to happen.

I have been thinking about heading to Canada sometime in the future but this sketches me out about brining weed across the boarder.
 
why the fucking fuck would you feel it was necessary to bring weed anywhere? have you not considered possibly, oh i don't know, buying the weed once you're there?
 
Well that is my plan. It sucks to ask around for weed from random people though, you never know what you are really in for and you run the possibility of getting skimped its definitely not worth the consequences that is for sure.
 
considering bud is about half of the price of eventhe cheapest bud in america even if you are getting ripped off its still cheaper than what youd be paying in america, and your going to fucking whistler; if you cant find bud in the whistler village within 4 hours of arriving there you are too dumb to be smoking in the first place
 
Haha, definitely not to worried about finding bud on the mountain. Just talking about a day trip to vancouver to get legally drunk and head back. Selling bud at a ski area is such a good idea.

If this is actually real your friend will very very likely never be able to go back to canada.

What's his charge? Drug charges will keep you from crossing that border. Interested in hearing the charge since he was attempting to smuggle it over an international boarder.

If somehow that ISN'T a felony he might be able to get it expunged at some point and cross.

And there's a really easy way to get nugs across the border on bus, even though it's still kind of retarded.

I got caught in March 2011 at the border crossing going from Canada to USA with 1.3 grams of weed in my back seat ash tray (nug form). I got banned for 5 years minimum.

A friend of mine was a drug smuggler by trait for years and eventually got caught with something like 300lbs in his truck on the US side. After some good lawyering he only had to serve 1 year in American jail. It was a 'deportation' jail or sorts, so no American citizens were there. When he got out he told me about this guy he met in there who got caught with a joint and got 6 months jail time (previous sentence). A few years later he got caught with another joint and got a year in jail (current sentence) and was to be deported back to whatever country he was from in Eastern Europe once his jail term was over.

America - fucked up shit.
 
Definitely not mids hahaha and its the convenience of having weed on you instead of having to walk around looking for a dealer. Like I said its obviously not worth the consequences so I wouldn't do that. Even prior to this incident I have heard that crossing the boarder on a bus with weed is sketchy so I wouldn't have done what my friend did.
 
Oh that's right, you need to look for a DEALER to get your little dimer of nug to smoke.

Not like you couldn't just find somebody that smokes and get a few bowl packs worth or maybe even more to hold you over.

That's the one place where you know they search people. Although going there generally isn't a big problem, usually coming back is when shit gets wild but still.

I'd tell you the easy way but it's not worth wasting it for a bunch of people to see who don't deserve it.

I knew this girl that rode a buss from texas to ny that took like 3 days instead of flying so she could bring an 8th. She was going to a music festival. Brilliant logic.
 
Oh, and for the record: I did not know the weed was there. At this point we guess that a friend was rolling a joint in the back seat of my car while were were driving to go skiing for the day and when it came time to roll he put the nug in the ash tray to free up his hands and just forgot it there.

Ultimately in the end though, I don't blame anyone but myself because I'm responsible for my car and what's inside.

After the 5 years I can 'request a pardon', which costs somewhere around $1000 (I had an initial $500 fine when it happened). Problem is, there are a number of us over here in Canada who are banned from America for similar dealings. Some have requested a pardon and gotten denied, and told to wait another 5 or 10 years. I know some dudes who got banned back in the 70's and 80's who still aren't allowed in. At this point I don't see an option (because paying $1000 to be told 'no' doesn't really sit well) so I'm just going to see how this whole "legalization" thing plays out and if anything will ever happen at a federal level.

As for the subject of this thread - I have no idea what Canada's policies are for Americans coming into Canada with weed so I don't really have an answer for you there - just thought I'd say how it is from the other side of things.
 
^ on that note. Try being an older lady and having a condo in florida that you go to all the time. Then all the sudden being turned away at the border after years of coming down because suddenly your old weed charge started to matter.

The whole things retarded.

and depending on where in Canada you're crossing into, finding weed is probably easier than finding... um... well, everything.

Side story: I was down in Utah and was trying to find weed. Oh man, people looked at us like we were drug addicts or some shit. It was college week too. I was all sad and defeated. Eventually on that same trip I ended up in Humboldt Country - felt more like home.
 
Usually I find the right people. I mean I tend to find groups of my kind of people and work in. But yeah I've gotten those looks before. I was really fucked up at an outdoor show once and was asking everyone, one guy points to his shirt "security" (took me a couple seconds to read it) and just laughed and said have a good night man.

Seriously though, don't bring your damn weed across the border. There are plenty of NSers that would help you get some weed if you decided to come up north for a day.
 
Every time I go to that gay ass country they hound the shit out of me at hte border. In Niagra Falls the cock suckers though Iwas a meth dealer since I had Nevada plates on my truck and kept me 2 hours and almost cut up my leather seats.

Then I went to Vancouver to watch my Bruins spank the bitch ass Canucks in game 7 Stanley Cup Finals and the dog jumped on me when I got off the train from Seattle. Some dude stuck his hand up my ass and they were all ike "your not going to the game eh" fucking faggots.

That's fucking retarded. BC is probably the easiest place to find weed I've ever been.I went to Big White last spring break and the first morning when I left the appt I was staying at the first thing I saw was a late 50s looking Italian couple rippin a J on their balcony.
 
Your friends is an idiot. Pretty sure British Columbia is the marijuana capital of the world. We have SO much weed here. Bringing your own is pointless. Not worthy the risk at all.
 
so it isnt worth the consequences to ask someone for weed on the street in a country where it is decriminalized but it is worth the consequences to take it across an international boarder?

And to the guy above, they don't always search. But you should plan on it because it's there's a good chance of it.

He probably doesn't even smoke. Just wanted to do it so his friends would think he's cool and he could hit up the "cool" kids on the trip and offer them drugs.

My friend didn't realize the consequences. I wouldn't have either though. But I would have been way smarter about it. The freedom to travel to Canada and other countries is greater than any amount of marijuana. My friend hid his bud in his bag that was checked. It wasn't in any food packaging or penut buter. It looks like he could have trouble entering other countries also with this incident being on his record. So to anyone
