im 18 and i decided that i want getting enough out of college to be worth 26g a semester. i took the second semester off and moved to utah alone. i bought my plane ticket, found a place to stay, found a job, and now im completely independent of my parents, besides health insurance. i can confidently say that the last month that ive been out here have been so much more constructive than staying at college would have been. all across the board my life has improved so much. im more social, ive started eating way better (aided by the fact that i make my own food), started working out, always keep my room neat as a pin, have never been less than 10 minutes early for work, always do my laundry when i need to, etc. in one month ive gone from feeling like an insecure child to a totally responsible adult, and im really proud of myself.
so basically getting kicked out might be really constructive for your brother. he just needs to quit being a pothead (its an expensive habit, i gave it up after college) and take advantage of what the world has to offer. it isnt easy, but if you commit to it its not hard either.
