I show up to the hill today and there are all these skiers with twin tips. No biggie right....well they all act like they are the shit and they cant ski worth crap. I was so fucking pissed...ahhh!!!!!! anyone else have this problem?

i'm going to say this again. just because a guy isn't good doesn't mean he's a poser. If they truely love the sport of skiing, just arn't good at it, they are not posers. Posers are people who ski just because they want to be cool. and if you're not the best skier but you're going to buy some new skis, why the hell not buy twins? I mean, sooner or later all skis will have a turned up tail, it just makes the ski that much better and makes your options a lot bigger.

alright well I think if they have all the new stuff and TALK like they can do stuff but they can't they're posers...But if they know they suck but are out on the hill to learn they aren't

ya we had some encounters with posers today in the park - some dumbass gos up the lip of the big jump at the bottom, get about halfway up it, stats going backwardsa ands falls over cutting off the DMB - i yelled at him sayin how much of a dumbshit he was. he was ready to come down and fight us, but rory pulled a sick switch rodeo 7 so he left

Define bad skiing. 'Cause I can't jib worth my Volkl Vs. I can actually ski well though. I worry about A-frames not slopy air. Oh, and I've never been a racer. If they suck, that's you're opinion. If jackasses that's something else entirely. If they're jackasses and they suck, all you gotta do is ski a run with 'em. If they still think they're the shit, then just leave them to their own devices.

I have twin tips. This will be my first full year of freestyle shit. I race too. I can ski better than anyone at my hill, but the depth of my trick ability is rather shallow...bottoming out around 540's...and the odd flip. Yes i talk shit to people because i know that i'll most likely be the best jibber at my hill by the end of the season...does that mean i am a poser just cuz i am not that great yet and i talk myself up? Uhh no, it's called confidence in my abilities.

We shouldn't be goign out with the attitude that we are all high and mighty and anyone who isn't up to our level can get off twin tips and off the slopes as well. Our sport would never progress, or survive for that matter. Just get over yourselves and go and have some fun skiing. Most of you don't give a fuck what other people think, otherwise you wouldn't be skiing. So why should you give a fuck what other people do then if it doesn't affect you??? Thats all I have to say, I'll stop my rant now.

I woundn't be worried how other people ski when they are talking shit. when it all comes down to it, let them talk shit, they'll just end up getting laughed at. Or as a solution to the problem, don't buy twin tips and stay out of the park, if you don't want to hear people trying to be XTREME or NEWSCHOOL. Cus' all this is in the park is a fashion show. Go learn how to ski the rest of the mountain, earn your turns, that's what skiing is about.

dude, the park is a fashion show, but that's what all progressive sports are. Once you get right down to it, it's just seen how good you are. I know a bunch of racers and 'extreme' skiers who tool on the park saying that it's not really skiing. That is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. Most of the stuff don in the park wasn't thought to be physically possible till some of the mogul guys started experimenting with their snowboard buddies.

And dude, try not to be a reactionary. Referring to 'the problem' as twin tips and parks is just gonna get you tooled on in the forum.

Give respect where respect is due. If you see some kid straightlining the green trails on some twins maybe welcome him (or her) to your booter. They might just be new at the place and visiting, just amuzing themselves maybe cause they're no park. Chances are you guys who want to fight, will find one easily. But those of you who actually think having fun is fun will have more fun if you support positivity.

notsonewschool- not all of us are so fortunate as to have all mountain skiing. Just so you know, conceptsboy lives in michigan so all they have there is a park. same with the rest of the east coast. he probly would be bored to death with skiing if there was no park.

I like it when I see other twin tippers, it is expanding the sport whether they are posers or not, and the posers out there are the ones that pay your heroes salarys

i saw a very old woman today at okemo w/ 1080s. i was just like 'oh god'. and another thing, i always see skiers w/ the stupid dinosaur hats (never snowboarders). i hate that, they are goiving our sport a bad rep. sometimes i wish our sport mainly directed towards kids and young adults..... i mean, it sorta already is but old people still ski. i would want more of a crowd that you might find in a skatepark. i guess you can't stop the crazy millionare's wife from trying out a pair of 1080s tho.

Sorry if you read that..... its my random thoughts i wanted to get out.

i know what you mean about the gay hats. Skiers and especially snowlerbladers wear viking hats, dinosaur hats, spiky hats, etc. Your right, it does give us a bad rep. Maybe its because snowboarding has more of a 'style' to it because it is percieved as the cool thing to do right now.
