I'll be there for a day or two shortly. I've never been, so what should I do while I'm there?

check out the old port downtown it's got some cool stores and sights. Also check out the lighthouse over the bridge in Cape Elizabeth has old WW2 fort structures you can climb on and whatnot. If you have the means check out the beaches in york,Saco and scarbough, higgins ..etc

sorry for double post, didn't finish, take in the air and the ocean breeze and then you will see, that why we all want to get the hell out of there and go west

I live in York, definitely stop by on your way up (assuming you're driving 95) and go to the beach. It's pretty chill here.

I spent my time raging some shows at the state theater and port city music hall.

Also spent my late nights campaigning for odoyle.

Old port for sure. Also, You can check out the Maine mall if you're into that sort of thing.

Hit up the china buffet there, so cheap and delicious and all you can eat. mmmmm.

surf at higgins, chill hard in old port, purple caterpillar hookah bar, state theatre, eat lobster/fried clams at j's oysters. portland is a sick town with a real chillin vibe you will have a great time there

visit me! I live in cumberland about 15 minutes north of portland. nah but go to the old port. you should take a casco bay ferry out to one of the islands like long island or peaks..that's always fun

definitely Higgins Beach. Chill little beach; way laid back compared to old orchard, york, scarborough, etc. Buuuut partying in old orchard would be wild and the old port in portland is real sick.......check out ri ra and the flatbread pizza place for some heady eats. thats all i can remember

get in a fight in the old port, go to condom sense, go to the crepe restaurant, go to a sea dogs game, come to old orchard beach, take a ferry to peaks island. endless possibilites haha

It's good, but not caps lock worthy.

As other people said, check out the Old Port, theres a bunch of fun shops and restaurants there. If you have time go up to Freeport (about 15-20 away from Portland depending on traffic) L.L. Beans is there- pretty sweet store, and theres a bunch of other cool stores. Check out some of the beaches like Higgins and Kennebunk. Also, about five minutes outside of Freeport is Bradbury Mountain State Park, its a fun short hike, and you can mountain bike there too which is sweet.
