Porters Tahoe - What a shitty ass shop...

So I ordered 3 bindings approximatley 5 weeks ago in this shop. Its an internationshipment so I figured id probably would take a while at least 2-3 weeks right . I wait 2 weeks not concerend, a week later I am starting to wonder and get excited where the package is at. Aight 4th week I give thos guys a call asking where my shipment is and wether they could send me the tracking number ( i ordered via phone). The person on the phone tells me they are going to send me an email with the info. Next day: No email... hmmm I call again. This time I am speaking with the bitch I ordered the bindings from. Where are my bindings. She: Oh yeah the bindings we are going to send them out tomorrow we charged your credit card and everything worked out fine. We didn't send em with UPS cuz that would have been to expensive... me WTF...(in thought, bitch that makes no sense, why didn't you ship them out then with the postal service if UPS is to pricy instead of waiting for my call 4 weekslater )... being polite: your killing me I really need thos bindings soon and please send me the tracking number... you have my email right? She says: Yeah you left it with my colleague. Me: Great Today: going towards the fifth week... no email, no bindings. Called the day before yesterday and left a voicemail for the bitch, no response... This is sooo fucking ridiculous

Soon enough I wont have to have the shipped because Ill fly over myself in January. This is just ludicrous... all in all if they send em today theyll be here in mid december.

 
i just ordered bindings from them like this saturday and there gonna be here today Reno, nevada ish to western massachusetts in 4 days dude

Sucks man. Complain to the manager or something. And don't be scared to swear/get angry at them, that works a lot of the time.
 
I resent your statement. They are not a shitty ass shop... they just fucked up a phone order... things like this happen bro.

just be glad its not fucking getboards... they do the same thing, overcharge you, then even after you get your shit, they say u need to pay for shipping costs you never signed up for...
 
yes the do have legit prices and yes they seem like nice people and yes its not fair to generalize based upon on instance. But no its not that they fucked up on a phone order simply. I have contacted them three times regarding this damn order. They have a way of getting in contact with me. I know I am not the center of their fucking universe but they could have just send an email explaining why they didn't send it. I dunno I am ranting but I got a good reason to ... anyways... does someone know where I can order some px 12 widebrakes for some lizzies(110 mm waist) that will be shipped in a faster manner.

You paid with a credit card. Chargeback. Put your money where your mouth is and vote with your dollar!
 
Call up and say unless they do express shipping for free your canceling your order since it hasnt been sent (technically your allowed to do this in the states). If they say no tell them to cancel your order because your chargeback
 
I bought AK's from them.

Brand new.

For 377 dollars.

With Free Shipping.

They went from Tahoe > NY in three days.

They were in perfect shape.
 
All jokes aside, Porters are good folk'. I deal with them regularly and their service is stellar. I'm not making excuses for them by any means, just that this is like a one in a million thing. A fluke.

Not kidding about the chargeback thing, though. Over a month is inexcusable. Porters or not, I'd have told them to shove their bindings up their ass weeks ago.
 
I'd say it was a fluke at first, but if he had to call three times to fix the fluke that's their bad. you should definitely get a shipping upgrade for free or somethin, most shops are usually really nice about that. When I got boots from twintipnation they were gonna use shipping that would take 3 days and I called to tell them I really needed them by that weekend and the truck had just left so he couldn't get them sent till the next day and he gave me a shipping upgrade so that I'd still get them for the weekend! go twintipnation
 
Same here... I ordered axial 120's from them to mount up my scratches... they said they goofed on the order, being it took 5 days for it to get from their DC to my house (which are seriously hours apart) and sent me a few free shopwork passes.
 
Moral of the story: go to a good shop that carries enough stock to have what you want right there on the shelf. Get them mounted 10 minutes later and walk out happy.
 
meh, everyone makes mistakes...  just ask to talk to the manager, everyone over there seems pretty nice and willing to fix their mistakes.
 
porters is legit and all.... but why order from them when you can use backcountry, rei, evo.. u know one of the big online stores (better online/phone service, good prices, better shipping)??
 
yeah i live like 45 min from boston MA and my px12 jibs got here in like a week. I was very happy with them. sucks for you good luck.
 
hey, you know what budd, guess what, the bindings you bought are made about one country over from where you're probably located. so don't rip on the sickest shop in tahoe and learn how to order shit the right way. INTERNATIONALSHIPPING dumbass!!!!

Porter's tahoe is sick bro. sorry to hear about your problems but dont tear em down like that. they have sick sales, lots of promotional sales, and get you your shit quick, granted your in the us. i ordered lizzies. supposed to take 5-7 days. got em in 2.
 
Dude, you better pay back some karma somewhere. I was told that Chapman the owner didn't just comp your shipping but the hole damn thing! $500 worth of shit for free now bro. Granted they f'd up and I heard their were reasons why (like short handed cuz of more than one death for an employee) but that's WAY more than refunding shipping. Free? Chill a bit over their in deutschland with your awesome exchange rate to buy shit from our country. Oh wait, it's now FREE...
 
Stop hating on the kid, I would be pissed also, Yea its sad to lose loved ones but someone else in that dept should have picked up the slack. Do they realy have only one person that ships products? You cant blame the kid for wanting to know where his stuff is.
 
I'm not hating.....I'm only pointing out that there are always two sides to a story and reasons why things happen......but in the end he should be stoked. Free is free, right?

jaw dropped to the ground. I am totally stunned as to what happened to

your order. That is completely unacceptable regardless of the reasons

why it happened.

I understand, of course, if you won't shop with

us again. Regardless if you will or not, I am more than just not

charging you for your shipping now.......you can have the three

bindings and three sets of extra wide brakes ALL FOR FREE.

I was told that all of your stuff did finally ship today, so you should see it in a couple of weeks at the latest.

Again, I can't say I'm sorry enough for how badly your order got screwed up.

While

we've been a shop for almost 50 years now, we're just starting our

second year online and still do not officially ship internationally.

What started as something that we were trying to be nice and make an

exception for turned into a fiasco for you.......and me.....

I will of course pay back my karma ... I think Mr Chapmans reaction is fucking nice as hell. Quite frankly I think its a little over the top to give me prettymuch everything for free and I don't know if I can accept it. As said I was ranting a little when I posted it and venting my frustration as I have pointed out in one of my second posts. I want to apologize for the harsh statement with thich I labeled the shop as it is no fair to generalize upon a whole from only one instance. Everyone fucks up and I think it is a very admirable conduct that Mr Chapman has displayed. I hope that my newschool terror will not have put any particular peoples job into jeopardy nor put a too bad light onto the shop. Thank you.
