You can find most Western Digital (WD) hard drives for 80-100 bucks ranging in size from 250gb to 1tb. pretty cheap.

i got the wd elemtns 320 gb, just put my itunes/iphoto/imovie on it with no problims

WD Passports are small, and hold a lot of space. The only problem with them is that they require a lot of power. Mine worked well when I first got it, then I could only use it with my laptop plugged in, and now I gotta use a special powered usb cord.

Yup, I've got two of them. The only problem I've had is that it has a hard time connecting with my moms old IBook G4, but I think that's the computers problem, haha.

I have this one. ITs like warenteed to drop 4 feet, doesn't need power, and is fireWIRE!!!

I wish I still had my firewire cable for my iPod. Shit was insanely fast. I'll have to get both cables though since my roommates computer doesn't have a firewire port.
