Porsche Boxster?

I'm 21 and a college student. Its time to get a new car and im feeling this 2001 boxster, 62k miles for 10grand.

I know its not practical at all, it would be my daily driver, and maintenance is a bitch.

I feel like life has few opportunities to get porsche so i wanna take mine, and having it when I am young would be all the better.

Anyone ever had one or driven one?
 
bosters rock dude...they handle amazing and absolutely rip. Though they are VERY smal even for a two seater their small as hell. With some mods can be a rediculous machine but for 10 grand save your money for the future. Buy a porsche 5, 10 years down the road. A two seat small convertible is going to be hell. Especially in the winter when it gets cold
 
fun fucking car, but not only is it a disaster waiting to happen, it's also probably not a very wise move from a financial standpoint....unless, of course, moms and pops are well off and willing to float the boat with maintenance and insurance. both of which could easily bury you.
 
Dont get it. If it breaks down the parts are extremely expensive and hard to get. Porsches are known to have a lot of electrical issues too. Also your insurance will go way up....a 21 with a porsche isnt gonna be cheap.

Hahahahahaha the ultimate ricer. If you do that it will be worse then having bought the Porsche. At least with a Porsche dumb girls will flock to you.
 
I think boxsters are ugly

but this one is sick ! If you're confortable with your cash definatly buy it , it'll help you get off that streak if you know what I mean
 
dude that looks like a clean example, but seriously reconsider what you could get that is equally clean, similarly priced, but way more maintenance friendly if you make sure to research its history.

this. nice rims add at least 200 horse power and spoilers can be anywhere between 300 to 500 hp

I wouldn't do it. My dad has one and maintenance is just ridiculous. Little things that you can't fix yourself are always breaking down and the cost to go get them fixed is stupid. It does drive nice though, lots of fun.
 
my moms got an 04 boxster and i drive it more than she does, its a fun as fuck car for what it is, but just be prepared for the money pit youre getting in to. the only other downside is its scary as hell to drive if the weather's bad.

if you have heaps of money get it. if you want a practical kid car, dont get it.
 
unless you're a trophy wife or something, a boxter is basically saying, hey look at me i drive a porsche but don't have money for a 911....

also maintenance costs are mad, so i hope the volume of poonslaying due to this car will make up for it ...
 
I'm sorta in the same boat. My parents gave me 20gs to buy a car for college. I'm thinking about buying a 03 mustang cobra. My dad has a 911 carra(sp) so I want something that will be able to smoke it but I don't think my mom will let me drop 20gs on a 10 year old car.
 
I was trying to make a similar decision between a boxster s, or a Z3 M. Both drive sick, but I'm leaning towards the BMW due to cheaper parts and ease of engine matenance, due to it not being mid-engine

theyre both bitch ass cars... you minus well save money and get a miata if youre going to be a pussy and buy a car like that

if youre going to spend money on a car, atleast buy one that doesnt make you look like you have a vagina
 
word I own a miata that I inheireted from my grandpa. why anyone would spend so much money on cars that are so small and impractical is beyond me. it's a money pit and barely gets me from A-B but at least I have something when my parents aren't home.

OP: just buy a porsche keychain and tell bitches you drive a porsche. that's what my friend did.
